I've heard many answers and I'd like to hear what you guys think.

What is the exact difference in a whip and flogger? and which do you prefer?

Thanks!

A whip is a single tail instrument, so that one of the first differences, however there are a few that are more. Whips can be very, very dangerous if not used properly, whips can break bones. The crack is actually a small sonic boom, a whip travels at nine hundred miles an hour when it does this. If someone is not skilled in whip usage they can seriously injure a person.

Floggers tend to have several falls, even the heaviest thuddy floggers could never do the kind of damage a whip can, no matter how big and strong a dom is, it's not what a whip can do, it can certainly break skin, and hurt like hell but whips can break bones.

I like both, but I've been trained to use a whip, the issue with whips is they require a lot of space, even a small whip needs a lot of head room, or side room if your swinging side ways. I am 6'4" and you need to swing your whole arm, mine is about three feet, add a six foot whip to that and I need nine feet of space to swing, it's not always something you have to work with. Floggers rarely if never require that kind of space, so as a toy I use all the time, I much prefer floggers.

wow, I was curious about the differences, too, and found your insightful comment very helpful! My first flogger is arriving soon and I'm excited for my partner to test it out on me!
