Eden's Birthday Club - Rules and FAQ!

Awesome post! Good to have it all in one place.

I just realized - I don't think I got my points for my birthday last month. I was listed in the shout-out list, but I wasn't sure when the points would happen (I thought maybe it was just late in the month, and that was why I hadn't gotten them yet) but suddenly it's January and still nothing. Is there someone I should email about this? less

Birthday Club – FAQ

1. What is the Birthday Club?
a. The Birthday Club is an awesome once-a-month thread to celebrate birthdays! There are no dues to be paid, homework to complete, or required meetings to attend. All in all, it’s a fun monthly post for every to share warm and fuzzy birthday feelings while learning a little bit from the posts.

2. How do I join?
a. You PM me. No, posting on a thread doesn’t count. Writing on my profile wall doesn’t count. Sending messenger pigeons doesn’t count. Simply PM me through EdenFantasys with your birthday.
b. On the note of sending your birthday – PLEASE type out the month name. Why? Not all countries use the same format! Some countries use month first, others use day first. If I typed 3-10, you don’t know if it’s March 10th or October 3rd.
c. No, I don’t need your year.

3. How do I participate?
a. You find the most recent Birthday Club Shout-out and join in on the discussion! Read the post to learn something cool and then celebrate with the other Edenites!

4. Who do I message and when?
a. You should PM as soon as possible. It doesn’t matter if it’s 11 months from your next birthday because I save them all! If you forget, however, and message me after the shout-out has been posted for your birthday month, you will need to patiently wait until it comes around again. We do this to be fair. Also, Eden is so amazingly generous, there will be plenty of fun, fantastic, and free opportunities during the rest of the year, which makes waiting easier. less

Holy crapola, this site is awesome. I just joined yesterday after finally remembering what my friend told me about affordable toys (I've wasted so much money at my local spencer's with toys that die after a couple months) and a points program.

On a weird note: my actual name is Stormy(my parents were waaaay ahead of the name-your-kid-somethin g-weird game)....and I saw someone on here with that username. Just thought I'd point that out and say it made me happy~ less

5. Can I still receive the points even if I’m not in the shout-out?
a. Nope.

6. Where can I find all of the shout-outs?
a. All Birthday Club Shout-outs can be found here: Birthday Club.

7. My partner(s) and I use one account, can we have multiple birthdays?
a. Nope. One birthday per account only.

8. When will I receive the points?
a. Usually by the 10th day of the month. There is no exact day every month since Stormy and I don’t always have matching schedules. But be patient because they will arrive!

9. What if I don’t want everyone knowing my birthday?
a. Then don’t give me your birthday…? If you still want to participate, you can always give me a different day within your month if it helps.

10. Why don’t I get a reply when I submit my birthday?
a. Because I have received nearly 200 messages within a single month before and it makes it crazy impractical for me to respond to each of them. (This is especially true when they are just asking me what the club is…)

11. What if I change my username on Eden, will you automatically update it for me?
a. I have almost 1,000 birthdays recorded at this time. So there’s no way I could keep up with individuals. If you do change your username name, please PM with the change and your birthday so I can locate you easily.
b. Example: “I used to be “EdenUser1” but changed it to “EdenF1” and my birthday is January 1st.”
c. If it goes un-updated, Stormy will have a lot of difficulty in getting you your points!

12. Do I have to resubmit my birthday every year?
a. Nope! I have birthdays saved from before the club’s first post. I began collecting birthdays in November 2010!

13. Can I submit a birthday for my friend/partner/family on Eden?
a. Nope. There have been quite a few people who are not comfortable with being included in the club. And I want it to be within everyone’s power to control whether or not they are listed in the shout-out. less
