Hello Everyone,

As we go into March, we now have two months of Eden Clubs under our belts. So far everyone has been doing a great job, my only regret is not having enough time to attend and participate in every club and workshop.

So now that we have 'invented' Eden Clubs, it would be great to put our heads together to improve the Clubs, Club participation, and communication / coordination between the Club Managers, Club Members, Club Blogs, Club Calendars, and of course with Sam & myself.

- Club Re-Structuring
As we compensate you for your time preparing and hosting your club, we would also like to compensate a Club Writer and a Club Promoter to help you with your Club. Some of you may not need both, but we would like to offer this as a solution to help grow and expand each club. (I would love to hear your feedback on this idea.)

- Club Managers Meetings
It would be great if we could all get together and discuss the Clubs, and ideas for improvement together. Since most of the community seems to be available 6-10pm EST Monday - Thursday, when would you all be available to get together?

While I am directing this at our current Club Managers, I would love to hear any ideas or suggestions that any of you have. I know some of you have done workshops, and a number of you might start your own Clubs in the future, so everyone please feel free to chime in!

I have an obligation every Monday evening starting at 7 pm EST.

I'm available from 5-6:30 pm EST, and then again from about 9:30-whenever pm EST but in between that I'm not home.

Also, I was told that I would only get compensated for about 2-3 hours of prep time (not including promotion time). I have the time available to spend more time on my club. If Sam wants to email me about it, I'd be happy to talk with her more about it. Lots of things I'd like to/can do with my club if I know what my parameters are.

I think club and workshop promoters would be a very neat idea. Get the works out to lots of people, even those not yet in the eden community.

After 7:15 pm EST works best for me.

Seeing as Eden Cooks is almost a recurring workshop, it could almost be more work to have one person running the club and a separate club writer. I might not understand the purpose of having a separate club writer and promoter.

I'd be interested in hearing more about club promoters. I could easily see this being a good way to encourage more participation, but I'd be afraid of overwhelming people with too many updates crowding their Twitter and Facebook.

Sorry for being such a Negative Nellie, I can't wait to be proven wrong, and to see all the wonderful things that Club writers and promoters are going to do for club managers and the Eden community at large.

I could just be speaking for me. I don't know how other club managers feel, but I feel really protective of my club. I don't mind having people promote the club more for me, but when it comes to writing for it, I'd like to have some say in what kinds of articles are getting put out and making sure that the information given in them is well-researched and beneficial. I think it has a lot to do with how much time and love I've put into my club and the love I have for the people who would be reading the blogs.

Maybe I'm being a little too protective, maybe I have a few issues of control, but yeah...

I'll shut up now.

I definitely don't think I need help with the writing part of things. Besides the articles I've already posted, I have about 50 more that I'm ready to write at a moment's notice- with more added to my list every week. I enjoy that aspect of managing the club greatly, and would prefer not to share it.

On the other hand, like Alys said, the promotion of the club is where I would like to know more. Right now my promotion is limited to Facebook and the EF forum. I'm putting in my required time, but also like Alys said, I'm concerned about pummeling people with my posts about the club. I have some creative ideas in mind for the future, but they are still Facebook and EF forum-centric. Promoting outside those two places is definitely not something with which I am comfortable at the present time.

As for when we can meet, Wednesdays are bad for me, as is any time between 8:30 and 11 (that's dinner and spending time with the family time). If it's a one-time meeting you are talking about, I can make arrangements for any of the times if need be. However, if these are to be frequent meetings, earlier times are all I'll be able to make. Regardless, any meeting needs to be after the 15th, as I'd like to have a club meeting under my belt first.

Yeah, I'm putting in more than 2-3 hours each week right now, and that is likely to grow as critiquing comes on line.

I love the growth of our community. Yay clubs! Anywho, the only night I already know I won't be available is Tuesdays. Otherwise, my work schedule changes and is never, ever the same weekly. It makes planning hard. But I'm guessing the Birthday Club doesn't have the same high priority for weekly or monthly meetings.
