Every other month is a good idea cuz it gives everyone time to build up a good amount of points.

I think that would depend on the products being offered.

But at the same time, Something as simple as rounding up to the nearest dollar can add up really fast.
I definitely agree.

I agree with this; products will probably sell better because they're for a good cause, but there will always be cases where people just don't/want need a product. I think having a broad selection of products that fall under the ... more
So maybe don't go as heavy on the products but still offer both then?

I am thinking it will depend on the product(s).

Hmm. Maybe you could do a test run, or something to get an idea of what kind of products would be more in demand from the community. Then there would be a higher chance of them getting as much patronage as the donations.

Would manufacturers be willing to have a new toy on EF be one of the featured toys? A new toy might draw more purchases.

Well, I don't know if this is possible/feasible (but maybe you guys can work it out with some of the manufacturers), but what about having one of the products in the promotion be a new/limited edition/special/sparkl y item, so that you have more likelihood that people will buy it because they don't already have one.

I think the products should be the centerpiece, kind of, because of the sponsorship.

Ok..coool! I will draft a plan next week and talk it over with my team here. In the meantime, start thinking about organizations in your areas that might need help - a few months down the road. (I hafta tell ya, Gary wants to go first in February, with an organization called CityKitties.org - they are an independent cat shelter in Philly, and he wants to adopt the organization during his birthday - too cute! BUT we'll have to vote on that!)

One drawback about the $1/3/5 donation option is that if people don't buy the manufacturers toys, they might stop supporting the program in the future?

This is probably much more involved...but how about another Eden toy like the Kissa? I have been thinking about other items that would say Eden on them that I would love to buy...especially for a charitable donation...

-Robes
-Slippers
-Totes
-Hoodies
-Condoms
-Lube
-Pillow Cases

Etc...

thx Julia,

I was thinking even just plain - Eden gives back' - or whatever slogan buttons linking to the page outlining what we are doing would help get more people involved

Special edition items would draw me in for sure. Like the Bath and Body Works Winter Line. I'm bad, and if I don't get it for Christmas, I'm buying the whole thing on my own, lol

That is great! But, we wanted to ask all of you for your opinions and feedback first. That is all.
I am so glad that you guys appreciate us enough to ask our opinions on things. I have felt like I belong here, and I love feeling like I have support from all the awesome people on here. I think we need to have a fundraiser to help Eden!

Exactly. They might feel miffed that the focus wasn't on how they helped, as our partner.

Ooh, I like that idea. I'd wear/use stuff with the EF logo on it.

I saw on another site, for World Aids Day they did a small gift bag in exchange for a donation, with their sponsor's products. I believe it had a lotion, a shower pouf, a small soap and something else. Maybe EF could do something else with lube, condoms, wipes, all in a tote bag from the sponsor, in exchange for a donation? You can never have too many condoms or too much lube!

Then we really have to make sure that the toys are the focus and the main source of fund raising. That way it's a win for the EF community and for the manufacturers.

Yea, I didn't think of that before..but I could see that happening. Maybe it would be best to just keep it to manufacturer items. It might help if they were at varying prices though, that way if someone didn't really need something, or didn't have a lot to spend they could still buy something to help out.
