Speaking of JR and his awesome workshop, what would you guys think about maybe combining one of these meetings with that workshop each month? Have there be sort of one big super meeting where he can talk about the review program and I can be there in the same capacity I am here.

I like that idea Julie.

I do have a question and you may not know the answer - but how many "currently active" users/forum members/reviewers do we tend to have? I'm just curious cause I know we get hundreds of reviews per week but I tend to see only the same 10-12 names....

I'm sure I'll come to the meetings no matter what the setup is Right know I kind of like how there are two with a separate focus, since not everyone in the community is a reviewer, and not all reviewers are really active in the bigger community... but as long as you guys promise to rein us in and keep us on task, I'm sure one big super meeting would be fun and effective too.

How would that work? Seems like it would be a big group of people trying to discuss two different topics at the same time?

That I don't have the answer to. Well, the number of people anyway. I have a theory on only seeing the same 10-12 names, and that's one of a few reasons in my experience. You're looking for those people's reviews, those people are putting out a crap load of reviews in a relatively short period of time, or those people are bumping the other people off the review page. Just my theories.

that's an interesting idea, but it would have to be a longer meeting to cover everything. and we'd have to cut down on the ice cream chatter! and get to business.

I've learned since becoming an editor that there are a *lot* of new reviewers, and reviewers that fly under the radar.

Not everybody looks at the page where each new review is posted, and even those that do tend to overlook reviews of lubes and less expensive toys. But there are a lot of reviews like that published each day.

We just don't notice them as often, so they don't get nominated for rumbles or welcomed to Eden as often. Kind of a pity, and I try to remember to visit them and say hi occasionally. I've gotten a lot of nice comments back after I edit reviews, and I feel like that's a good time to say hi to new contributors too.

But I've been totally behind at reading reviews lately. *raps own knuckles with jelly dong*

We'd definitely make it a bit of a longer meeting. I'm trying to get him in here to help explain, but we were looking to have one place where everybody could ask questions and get answers, especially since less and less people seem to be showing up to these meetings.

What if, like with the workshops, you announce a topic for discussion at these meetings. That way people with a vested interest in the topic might be more inclined to attend and participate.
