Look what I made!!!

My daughter is turning 7 tomorrow, and loves rainbows, and colorful things, and things to hang on her wall. So I hot glued some crayons to a canvas, and took a blow dryer to them. What do you think!

Omg that looks really cool!!!! I love it so much! Did you come up with this idea yourself or did you find it online/hear it from a friend/etc? It's awesome!

I saw a picture of it online, but no instructions. They had their crayons in a straight line, and used a heat gun, which would have made much quicker work of the 45 minutes with hte blow dryer. I also considered just running the crayons through the glue gun like a glue stick, but I don't think it would have turned out as nicely. Maybe on a smaller canvas.

Oh wow!!! I love that!! That looks amazing! How will you keep it from chipping and flaking? Maybe a clear glue or something? I think that is really really cool. I want one! You should sell those! That is a great piece of art for a kids room.

I'll have to post some of the other stuff I've done as well. My most recent project before this was making my own headboard. And right now, I'm refurbishing an antique vanity to put in my room.

I JUST did that!! I saw it on pinterest and had to try it!! Yours looks way cooler than mine. I don't think I let it sit up long enough to get fully dry, and when it was laying flat the crayon colors ran out and made it look like a huge mess instead of something pretty lol

***okay, now I'm confused..I didn't hit the reply to the comment, I just hit make a post at the bottom of the page, and it is replying to a comment, sorry for the confusion! and I couldn't delete it? I guess I need to restart my internet and try to figure it out

LOL.... yeah, I let it dry all the way before I let it lay flat, and then after it was TOTALLY cooled off, I sprayed it with clear spray paint so that it didn't chip or anything.
