So I think most people follow a fairly basic recipe for this picnic/ bbq salad but is there anything you guys and gals add to give it some extra zing?

I don't know what other people use, but my family adds just a few teaspoons of sweet pickle juice

Not together, but I have seen it with tiny apple slices, fake crab meat, raisins.
On a side note, I am not really a fan of coleslaw, however, it RULES on a BBQ sandwich!!!
