A bleak cold midwinter is the perfect time to branch out to tasty southeast Asian cuisine. Pad Thai is a dish that has been super popular ever since its introduction to North America---it is a balanced meal with veggies, rice noodles, eggs, a protein of your choice (I'll show shrimp), all served in the most delicious sauce. It is simple to make, and with a few tips from my friend, it's not to hard to make a meal that's even better than what you get at a restaurant. And you'll learn a lot of wok tips along the way!
I'll serve up a Singapore Sling, a cocktail featuring pineapple, with the Pad Thai so you can double down on your Vitamin C and enjoy your Pad Thai in true 'better than eating out' style.
Eden Cooks is a cooking club for any interested members of the Eden community. We will meet on the forum to discuss everything from tips and pointers for less well-equipped kitchens, explanations of cooking terms, and important techniques. There will be a featured recipe each meeting, with pictures taken as I prepare it for you. I will cover some ingredient substitutions to make each recipe more friendly to people with dietary restrictions.
During the meeting, five $10 gift cards to EF will be awarded to the winners of a trivia contest from information that I will provide during the meeting, and to those who share wok tips and chopping tips of their own.
Pad Thai nights are always a time well spent with friends, and I look forward to inviting a bunch of people over to share my Pad Thai with. I'm even more excited to share this delicious recipe and wok tips with you all, so I can't wait to see you in this very thread on Monday the 21st at 8pm EST!
