I bake my own pies from scratch. I cheat sometimes and buy the already rolled crusts. Since everyone doesn't do their own baking I was wondering where your pies come from.

Mrs usually bakes up a bunch...Thanksgiving is apple, bourbon pecan and pumpkin. Then there is the cheesecake and the pumpkin roll. BUT...this year our "hostess with the mostest" decided SHE wanted to try something different. WHATEVER! all we can say is it better be good!
Oh...and in case you are wondering...Mrs CAN bake, that is not the reason.
Oh yeah...AND Mr is NOT HAPPY, he has to wait for his bourbon pecan.

I bake a lot during the winter and definitely make my own pies!!! I will not eat a pie that is not as good as homemade, lol!! I am doing pumpkin, my no-bake cheesecake has been requested and a pineapple upside down pie. I might still make a pecan pie if there is a store open tomorrow--forgot the dang pecans!! I did remember the toffee liquor for it though, lol!!

I baked 6 pies yesterday and a cheesecake today but I don't bake all of my pies from scratch, sometimes I buy them at the store or get the frozen ones.

However, at my grandmother's for the holidays (we do holiday parties at both mine and my grandmother's house. Love the double parties!) she makes all sorts of diff. pies! Ooooh! That reminds me, I almost forgot about my other grandmother's blueberry pie! Oh shit, she'd kill me. Lol. My grandmother on my mom's side has always made blueberry pie (just randomly. Not a specific holiday) and I've loved it and requested it since I was very young.
Back to my other grandmother. My dad's side. She usually has cherry pie and a few other pies on the holidays. She makes everything herself too.

Usually my family and I bake all of our own pies from scratch. Unfortunately, due to time restraints, some of our pies this year were store bought.

It is usually a combination. I always make the pumpkin, sisterinlaw makes pecan (or my mom) neighbor makes chocolate, guests can bring whatever they like or nothing at all.

We only make pies for Thanksgiving and my in-laws and I alternate years for hosting. Whoever doesn't host makes the pies and they are from scratch, sometimes the crust is bought pre-made.

Sometimes I make them myself, sometimes they come from a store or a bakery. It just depends on what else we have going on at the time.

I'm not a big pie baker but I'm not against doing them, just haven't really had the need or opportunity to yet. My granny makes pies for our family dinners or we buy them from the bakery sometimes. I make more cakes and other kinds of baked goods from scratch.
