What sizes and lengths of tubes have you used? Does the longer create more snap or the shorter?

The thickness is "thuddy" on this one, the thinner the rubber= the most stingy it is. It's very much like a rubber-band "snap." But see how the ends are cut? They are cut into points to make the flogger hurt a little worse.

I am sure most size tubes would work, I believe Tim posted the dimensions above. The longer that the tails are, the harder you can pull back and swing. You don't want to go too long however, the tails can be a little haphazard. I would suggest, for the hardest sting, medium size tails, a large handle, cut "pointy" tips and practice swinging. It's very much technique driven : )

I would say that with leather you may want to nail the tails to the wood before the final rapping.

Tim and I had a fun but busy time putting this together, he did all the formatting and he is the only reason we even have a DIY club. I am so impressed with his hard work!

A leather punch makes the nail hole less likely to fray or wear.

Yeah, it's pretty fun. Play piercings can be anything from fun and pretty to painful and used solely to get endorphin rushes. I have a few piercing bunnies in my local scene, so I get to do them a few times a month.
