Finish the scarlet stitches and begin to over cast the edges of the coaster around the edges so that you end up finishing the stitches on the other side of the coaster. Over cast the edges there as well.
Finish off by running the tail of the yarn under some stitches in the back of the work.



Join on the yellow at the base of the candle flame according to the diagram and work to cover the canvas to the tip of the flame. Overcast the edges of the candle flame in yellow before finishing off the yarn.

Join on the green for the holly leaves to either side of the coaster and work according to the diagram.
Once you have finished with the holly and berries join the wine yarn to the top right corner hole of the coaster. Following the diagram outline the dark red in single running back stitches.
You will bring up the yarn in the beginning hole and then draw it through the fabric one hole farther along.
Draw the yarn over the next hole on the back of the fabric and back stitch. Continue until you have outlined the dark red.

To complete your coasters join the black yarn to the coaster according to the diagram; at the base of the yellow and draw it through to create the wick. Finish off and you are complete.

Your coaster should look almost as good from the back as it does from the front!



If you make mistakes that are small don't be afraid to leave them be. Chances are no one will be able to tell the difference anyhow.




This was my "mistake" and it looks just fine!

I thought they were as well. It's a shame that there aren't more books aimed at plastic canvas creations.

My Aunt used to do them just free hand from ideas she got, I remember her using one to make me a Tiara from Sailor Moon to wear when I was younger. I still have it some place.
