Hello everyone! I'm so happy Eden has this program set up during the holiday season. This year I wanted to volunteer for a cause near and dear to my heart.
Back when my son was a week old, he got very ill. We were in the hospital for a little over a week right around the holidays. It was one of the scariest and most heart wrenching times of my life. One day a group of volunteers came to the children's wing of the hospital with presents for all the children. While my son was too young at the time to remember, I'll never forget that day. It was a little ray of sunshine at a terrible time for our family. We went to visit the main area to see all the other children receive their presents. The joy on the children's faces is still so vivid in my mind.
For children and their families who spend time in the hospital around the holiday season, it's hard to manage the hospital and giving at the same time. This year I wanted to bring the same joy to other children and their families as someone was kind enough to do for us.
I will be buying up as many toys as possible for all age ranges to bring to the hospital in my area. With help from you guys, hopefully we can make this a holiday to remember for those who have to spend them outside of their home.
