I couldn't think of one that was shorter and summed everything up. However I'm certainly not opposed to changing the name of it to be more inclusive if we can think of something better.

Well, maybe one month (during the summer perhaps?) we could have a sort of 'volunteer drive', where people try and find somewhere local they can volunteer a few hours every few weeks or something.

I'm not sure. Maybe some sort of community service? I'm sure there are people that do volunteer work. That might be fun and interesting to hear about what people do.

Maybe a highway clean up or helping out at a local animal shelter. Just a couple of thoughts.

I like the idea behind that. My only concern would be limiting people to a specific month to do stuff like that. But I want to find a way to make that work as well.

Apparently January is National Blood Donor month. I like it bleeding over into February for Valentine's Day though, too.

I'd like to switch gears right now and talk a little bit about Joplin. I know some of you were at the most recent Community Planning Meeting and already heard about it, but for anybody that hasn't, our next fundraiser will be to raise money to donate to the survivors of the Joplin tornadoes.
