That's awesome. I was just reading up on it. I find it fascinating but don't think I'd ever participate myself. I too have bad wrists and need surgery on both. It would make pony play especially difficult.

Yes, I keep the back of my head shaved all the time.

It started off this past summer as a way to keep cool in the horrible heat. Master used to always shave the back of his friend's head's in the summer, and he missed it. I guess he enjoys shaving others. When the cold weather came in, Master opted to keep my hair that way because he enjoys shaving it.

I do always keep it pulled back. I have thinner hair, so it's easier to keep my kitty ears in if I keep my hair in a pony tail or pig tail.

Oh no! Surgery sounds scary. I hope your wrists will be OK!

What exactly does 'pony play' consist of? Like, kitty play I can see you lounging around in the evening after work, and you bouncing, or purring, or chasing marbles, or expressing affection / arching your back while he does his usual activities (reading the paper or coking or whatever)... but what goes on when you're pony playing?

I'm a chimera, like I said, but some of the non-cat or dog behaviors and sounds I display are whinnies, nickers, snorts, "blows" (the sound a frightened or aggressive deer makes), yips, "pawing" (like an impatient horse), prancing (also like a horse), an equine head toss, etc.

Pony play is a BIG topic. There are three basic types of ponies.

Cart: A work horse who pulls around (Dun dun dun!) carts.

Riding: A pony who carries others around. Some ponies do this on all fours, and some do this standing, carrying a passenger on their shoulders!

The main difference between cart and riding ponies is a cart, really. They are both "work" horses.

Show: Show ponies are taught complicated steps and are taught routines. There are special steps for show ponies, and they even can be taught to clear jumps, etc, while wearing their tack!

That's the very basics of it, but for Master and me, I'm mainly a cart or show pony, and for us, the big draw is the D/s. As a pony I find myself working physically harder than I do at anything else! Pulling a cart this past July was a lot more difficult for me than I thought it would be. The cart itself was 75 pounds, and Master was another 150. That was a lot for me. I just get a lot of pride and satisfaction being taught steps, tricks, and commands as a pony though.

And then you don't use spoken communication while you're in that mode?

RVK, you mentioned that you wear kitty ears and a collar. Is there any other pet things you wear while in kitty mode?

Neat! I might kind of naturally be a bit of a riding pony (only I'd call myself a Clydesdale) without having thought twice about it... to my partners' often chagrin, if I'll get stressed out it calms me down to carry my partner on my back for a while. Just around the house, noplce special.

Huh. Never thought more of it than just the basic "feels good to have weight on your shoulders," though!

Generally not. We haven't quite worked out a system of when I'm "allowed" to transition into "half-human" mode (and speak), but when I'm in animal headspace, I'm more inclined toward animal sounds and gestures anyway. Most of the time, I only "speak" like a person if he requests it of me.

Sometimes I wear a tail. I don't like tail anal plugs, but some people do.

I also wear mittens sometimes, and fuzzy socks or fuzzy leg warmers. Oh! And a couple years ago, we took apart an Xmas decoration that had a HUGE jingle bell in it, and sometimes Master will make me wear it when I'm in kitty mode. The bell is almost three inches in diameter!

Very cool! I think it's good carrying people around the house. Easier on the wrists than outside.

Do you have a special pony name? (If you do and don't want to share it, then don't feel pressured.) Many ponies have a show or just "pony" name. Master named me Glofindel, when I'm in pony mode.

What is it about the tail anal plugs that you don't like?

I just feel like they would be hard to keep clean. I love anal play, and anal plugs and all.. But having to keep something furry clean that is so close to my bum seems like it would be a pain. The plug part I'm sure would be fine, but I feel like the tail would get sort of messy over time. It's just a weird worry I have.

Nope, like I said, I had never really considered it in anything but an "I do this occasionally" context, I had never really put any thought into it! Perhaps I will now!

Cool. I think it's cool that you consider yourself a clydesdale too, by the way. I wanted to be a clydesdale when we were starting out, but they are such strong creatures, and I don't think I live up to that. Master says I'm a chestnut brown mare. Nothing too fancy, but all horses are special.

Speaking of pony names, what about the rest of you? Do you go by a special name when you're in kitty or puppy or any other animal mode? Don't feel compelled to say if you don't want to share what it is, but if you do want to share, I'd love to hear!

He just calls me his little kitty (or puppy).

By the way, Red Vinyl Kitty, do you have any gestures that you use with your Master either in kitten or pony mode that are just understood to mean a certain thing?

I don't have a special name in pet mode, but it is the only time that I get called "Pet" and that's a special treat in and of itself.

Yes we do! When I'm a pony I stamp my right foot three times (or flash my hands three times) if I'm thirsty or need a water break or to use the bathroom. I wear full pony tack, so I have a harness which prevents me from being able to use the bathroom on my own, and a trainer gag which covers my whole head and contains a big bit tag, so that I can't speak.

This is kind of silly, but, a few years ago Master bought me a plush sushi. As a kitty (or other beast) I crawl to the sushi, pick it up in my mouth, and deliver it to Master's feet to show him that I'm hungry. Of course, if I'm wearing a gag, he finds it acceptable to just "bat" the toy over to him.

RVK, you mentioned you're in a polyamorous relationship, is anyone else in your relationship a pet or are you the only one?

I am the only one, although I've played with other pets in the past. The majority of our polyamarous relationship has been with other doms though, truthfully. Having two pony handlers at once.. Now that is fun! Or, a few adults to play with my mousies with me. I'm a lucky girl.. And I know it.
