What do you mean blog their journeys? What journeys?

The only exciting health related thing I've done lately is quit smoking, and it's more quit buying than quit smoking. So I'm afraid that my healthy journey would be rather boring lol.

Either weight loss journey, or smoking cessation journey, whatever. As long as it's related to getting a little healthier.

Would recovering from a series of unfortunate physical events count?

I've actually decided to try out for the roller derby team I volunteer for, so I'm thinking about blogging my journey of practicing being on skates (which I've borrowed) and going through the Fresh Meat tryouts.

YES! Absolutely!

I used to be very physically fit, but over the past four years I've had whiplash, abdominal surgery that was supposed to be minor, but ended up much more complicated and a fall from my horse that was worse than the previous two events combined.

It's been 1 1/2 years since my fall and I am finally able to start exercising and getting fit again.

Congrats on being cleared to exercise. 18 months is a long time.

I love my team already. I'm a non-skating official right now. I'd really hate to wake up in 5 years and think, "Damn, I wish I'd skated." Not that there's an age limit or anything.

Short articles about 300-500 words. You'll want to submit them to Rayne. rayne@edenfantasys.com

It does pay GCs, I believe.

Because of working with a party planner for a local eccentric millionaire, I've actually worked with a local roller derby team several times. They were great fun to spend time with.

I can do that. Well, it might be hard keeping them short. I tend to be wordy. But I can give it a try.

Isn't Rayne the person you submit to for Eden Cafe? What should I tell her these articles are for?

There's a lot of camaraderie or sisterhood involved in derby, for sure. You usually spend 3-5 evenings a week with your teammates, so you develop some serious bonds. Whenever you're around people with those types of bonds, it's always fun to be around.

Okay, I'll try to write an intro article in the next couple of days. Is that soon enough?

The other big announcement for Eden Lives Healthy is that we are discontinuing the monthly meetings. Instead, we are moving to a workshop format. This is neat because it gives different people the opportunity to talk about and teach aspects of health that they are passionate about. Gardening, for example, is something I'm NOT qualified to discuss as my thumb is BLACK!
