I'll be dealing with that in the not too distant future.

Squats are great for skating. It gets you used to being bent down.

I've started trying to do that too! My mom keeps some exercise bands in the kitchen to play with while waiting for the microwave, lol.

I'm sorry you're sore, but it sounds like it was great exercise.

It was, because I had no idea how much I was exercising until I woke up this morning. I'm going to try and do more squats to get my thighs in better shape I think lol.

I'm trying to lose weight. It feels like I've been at it forever and I have forever to go.

Ah, I also have major problems with anxiety, depression and a rare sleep disorder. But I've pretty much given up trying to do anything about those. Getting fit again is something that I can actually do something about.

My calves and quads are still so sore from the Habitat build. Walking in mud is a LOT of resistance.

If you have an exercise ball, you can put it in the corner and use it as support until you're used to doing the squats more.

I've only recently had to deal with issues of losing weight. It is certainly frustrating. But I am not going to give up.

Getting fit should help with your other issues. I haven't reached my weightloss goal, but what I have accomplished has helped in areas other than clothing size.

Yup. Walking in a sand arena is also killer on the calves. All riding instructors have great legs.

It's a great big inflatable ball, used to help getting into certain positions for stretches and workouts.

That's how my trainer started me.

One of the coaches for my derby team, when I asked for advice before tryouts, said to try doing squats where I race myself, going as low as I can. I have to do like 3 1-minute sets.

They sound like small resistance bands. My mother has a set in her bedroom. They crack me up because she uses them solely for exercise, but on first glance the bands and connecting rings look like a BDSM setup.

They come in different shapes and sizes but the basic gist is that they've got handles (or something) you can hold and they stretch. They come in different resistances so you can make your workouts harder or easier depending on how you feel that day. You can hook your ankles in and use them to do resistance pulls outwards, hook your wrists in and stretch open and close, etc, etc. They're quite often a relatively cheap way to add some extra oomph to just about any workout.

Actually they're like giant rubber bands.

Hi Momma!

Oh the anxiety, depression and sleep disorder have been with me since I was a child. And I was a very, very fit child. I was very physically fit until just a couple of years ago. I've just NEVER been psychologically fit.

I will definitely have to look for a set of these. I suppose they sell them on Amazon.

I haven't taken a gander, but it's probably a safe bet. While you're there, I need to pimp this super awesome Thermos container I have; the Backpack bottle. My ice cubes from 4pm are still there at 10 the next morning, and the super hot tea I made at 4pm was still really warm 16 hours later with the lid having been open all night. I seriously love this thing!

That's pretty much all I've got for tonight. If you have a workshop idea, please email Sam (sam@edenfantasys.com) . If you have an article related to healthy living, email it to Rayne (rayne@edenfantasys.co m)

Yes, yardwork is the best workout I have, it gives you exercise AND you feel accomplished afterward.

BTW, didn't get little man down until now so I am trying to catch up on the thread. I like the idea of a workshop format, but what is the difference between how it is now? Isn't the same thing but a different title?

I am trying to do both of these things. I only smoke 2-3 cigarettes a day tops, but it still bad and I don't want my son to see me doing it anymore (even though I hardly smoke around him, but that is besides the point).

I don't know why this damn baby weight won't go away, it's fine that I'm shrinking size wise, but the weight just won't go away.

That's what I said too. My mom got it for me for Christmas and I'm just in love with it. And even with all the abuse I give it, it took Aircraft Stripper to make a mark on it. I melted a little bit of the plastic because I didn't take my gloves off first before taking a sip lol.
