Ooh a skunk cabbage!

Actually, to get the full url, right-click on the image itself and say "copy image address"

so the end result is

]img|link[ (but flip the brackets around)

This looks so much different from our skunk cabbage flowers (different species).

I love the colors and depth of field, but I think I'd have liked to have seen a portrait orientation (taller than wide) rather than landscape (wider than tall) to focus on the flower and eliminate the overexposed background elements.

Ahhah, now we have a clue as to what this plant is. I was thinking the same thing when i uploaded the image. I think the issue may be I have a wide angle lens camera. IDK for sure. But when i turned the camera side ways to get the whole plant the photo was real narrow. Typing this I'm wondering if the camera has some sort of setting for portrait vs landscape. IDK. I'll have to search the Kodak web site to see. I have only had this camera a week. So I'm trying real hard to learn how to use it.

I really love how much detail can be seen on the ... part where the stamens jut out from. You did a great job focusing on that.

I kind of like the long length, but I would have liked it if the tip of the flower was visible.

I love the mirror image. The back ground of the photo seems to kind of over powering. I guess that is the right thing to say. Maybe busy is the right term. I"m not sure.

Hello, this is my first time joining the discussion. In fact it is my first day as a member of E.F. I will defiantly be back for each meeting.

What type of photography do you enjoy the most? I really like nature photos. But I would love to try photographing people. The kids have all grown up and left for the Army ( I way should have discover this hobby when they were young) so I don't have anyone willing to be my subject. But I'm on the hunt for friends in my area who will let me play with there kids for an afternoon and take lots of pics.

The flashlight idea is awesome! I would have never thought of that!

I am always (overly?) concerned about adjusting my ISO. How can I know the highest ISO I can use without having too much noise in my photo if I was to greatly enlarge it?
