I tend to keep resources like that ready. There's always a post round-up on EdenBloggers to get publicity for your recent blog posts too, so that can help get readers as long as it isn't a review post.

Id like to take out an odd blank space in one of my sidebars and reduce the sidebars from 1 to 2. However, I think my current wordpress theme doesn't allow editing of the template, so I'm screwed, right? I'd also like to be able to make my own templates, at least for blogger, if not wordpress. (I have one on each site. The blogger blog is my erotic poetry blog since it's nsfw & i've heard a lot about wordpress removing sites w/ adult content recently).

I do really need to get around to some php/css coding though, I need to make a child theme for Wordpress but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Hopefully my theme doesn't get updated soon or I'll lose the shit I already did.

You should be able to edit any wordpress theme if it's hosted on your own domain - there's an "editor" with a ton of the code and everything in. Some are locked though so you have to purchase the Pro theme to make edits.

Yes, I heard of wordpress removing adult blog.

I'm self-hosted, just using the wordpress platform, so I think that is what kept me safe.

It takes awhile. That's really the biggest part. Getting people to your blog and then having good content to make them come back.

I've heard a lot of issues lately with Wordpress removing adult blogs, so I'd be careful. They also are against advertising links or affiliate links, so again, be careful.

Yeah, if you're self-hosted it's your host that would matter. Using the wordpress platform won't get you pulled, it was just wordpress.com having issues.

Some little finer things you might be interested in are how to make a link, how to add an image, and how to add a textarea.

So what is a link? A link is what allows you to link to other pages. Just in case something isn't formatting right or you want to add your own, manual link to a sidebar, it's good to know the basic HTML for making a link. It is:




What about an image? An image allows you to embed a picture in your text. Pictures can be sexy, scary, or just represent facts more accurately, and pictures are always a good idea to include in blog posts to keep the reader's interest. Here's the HTML.




What is text are and why do you care? Textarea is basically a small box that tells the internet that you don't want it to actually use the HTML you're going to type out. This is vital if you want to make it easy to copy/paste your banners. (See an example here.) Whenever using a textarea tag, it's definitely suggested that you also include an example of what your visitor will be copy and pasting. The HTML for that is:

Some mommy bloggers post "giveaway round-ups" where they invite you to post your giveaways that you have going on, so you could always start a giveaway and find those.
