Not for any particular reason, really. I guess I tend to think of blogs and personal sites more as .coms .

.com is less confusing, everyone automatically puts it. I do think .net is SUPPOSED to be more appropriate for it, but I have never met someone who got mad about it a website's suffix.

Both .com and .net are generic top-level domains. Originally .com was intended to use by commercial organizations and .net was designated for network infrastructures. These domains are unrestricted now. Although .net might look more suitable for a blog (considering blogs as network resources), I'd suggest .com, just because this top-level domain is much more popular.

Of the two you named, I'd go with .com for sure. Every site I visit that has a .net....I tend to forget and accidentally type .com anyhow and it screws me up. Lol

.com are usually more popular just because that's what everyone generally associates with the net but really it's completely up to you and what pleases you the most.
