I have a lot of RSS feeds that come straight into Thunderbird, so I read them almost every day.

When I had friends studying abroad and doing things like peace corps I would check on their blogs once in a while to see what they were up to but I've never really been one to follow a blog daily

The blogs I usually read don't post daily. So I check on it a couple times a week to see if there are new posts. I don't comment though, unless I have something to say or ask.

To answer my own discussion thingie...
I try to comment on every blog I read. Simply because; I like comments on my blog. I say try, because of where I live, I can see blogs on my phone, but we are unable to comment on them, and I usually forget by the time I am back in front of my computer.
This all being said, and I know it sounds a little selfish of me, but if I comment on practically every blog a person writes, and they hardly ever comment on mine, make a comment in private, text message or such... then I change my way of thinking to be; I'll only comment when I think it necessary.

I have a few blogs that I follow, mostly people I know from Eden or a few people IRL. My father has a blog that I refuse to go to, it's too weird and full of his "predictions" and apocalyptic bullshit.

Certainly. As a blogger I think it's only polite, and I often find very interesting things via the blogs of others. I'm actually currently working to build the blogroll for my newest blog.

I read other people's blogs fairly frequently, usually several times a week, but I rarely comment. I generally just don't have anything useful to say. However, after reading this thread, I may try to comment more often. Even if I only say "Nice post. Thanks for sharing."

I read a lot of blogs and reviews a day. I don't often comment because I'm a bit of a lurker. I'm trying to comment on peoples blogs more often, but I'm more likely to chat with them via twitter, facebook or other social networking sites rather than actually commenting publicly on a post... I don't really know why but it just seems to happen that way.
