I like writing because it allows me to say things that would never be ok to say otherwise. I can have a character saying and doing the things I wish I could but have never had the courage or ability to do. I can posit a theory and then follow it to one possible conclusion. If I am right and everything we write creates a new reality then I get to invent amazing worlds and people them with characters I can torture or reward....muahahahaha!

I like writing...in a journal....because a journal is a gift that I give to myself. I can express my anger without hurting anyone. I can express my joy and go back and remember the good times. Most of all - I can express myself without anyone at all criticizing me.
I like....short stories about my bunnies...because although it is fiction and about critters...I can have them and say things I'd like them to do and say if they were people instead of critters. Since I like critters more than people it is a great way to have friends - even if they're pretend. It helps me keep my childhood alive.
I liked....writing letters.....when my mom and grandma were still alive. It was a way to share my life - from a distance - being able to sift the good from the bad and sharing what I wanted and keeping silent about what I wanted left alone. Rereading the letters would help me see the good in life and it was such fun to get mail in return.
I like writing...I usually do it for myself...because it is one gift I can give myself that is non-fattening and makes me happy.

I am enthralled by writing because I can open the cage and let the imagination run free. I'm a textbook case of underutilized intelligence stuck in circumstance that don't allow me to realize my full capabilities. When I write, I can create my own universe in a swift sentence, or meticulously craft individual portions of a community chapters at a time. I can make the protagonist something off the wall and completely unheard of and have readers addicted to my antagonists. Nothing is off limits, and I can do it all however I like. My writing is my writing, and no one can impose themselves on me.
