#EdenLit - December meeting: December 12th at 7pm EST

Contributor: Airen Wolf Airen Wolf
Welcome to the Eden Lit Writers Club Meeting: December 12, 2011 at 7pm.

This Month's topics were:
*December Chill- It's cold out there! What are you doing to keep warm? Do you have the holiday blues? Tell us all about your causes or rememdies for the cold.
*Last Chances- This interesting category relates to the year coming to an end. Are there things that are coming to an end in your life? Do you have any interesting stories about the times you either stood up and took hold of a last chance or stories about how you let a last chance slip away?
*Open Topic- For the love of writing! You chose the topic and let your words fly free.
You can read what the members of the club wrote on our blog which is beautifully managed by Rayne.
During this Month's meeting we will discuss the work we have submitted as well as choose some new topics for next month. We will also be talking about some possible changes to the club. During the last hour we will discuss the book project, which will be entering the editing phase!

We welcome any and all readers to our club meeting. This club isn't closed to non-writers. As always, if you can't make it to the meeting, don't worry, just read the discussion and add your thoughts. You will want to read the discussion this month especially as we will be discussing more than just the writing.
If you know you can't make it but want to make a suggestion about a topic message me here at EF (Airenwolf). I'll bring your suggestions up at the meeting.

How late can I submit something and who do I submit it to? I have a poem I just wrote that I'd like to submit as well as possibly a couple other things I've written recently.

I could relate to everything TexasMama was saying. Sigel had many opportunities to be the amazing guy he is for my family, just my family were not willing to accept him as anything but a horrible person though no one really knows why! I wish I had had someone who saw him for the amazing person he really was.

That was a really beautiful story---I love when you can see how the events in the world are bringing out the inner qualities of the people around you, and I'm glad her grandmother saw things appreciatively!

Yes! That's my feelings on that story as well. I thought it was a wonderful story, and gave great insight into the author.

Which is a perfect segue into her other piece Just Calling To Say Hi What a horrible thing to happen! I can't imagine the pain of missing someone and thinking about calling them only to learn they were horribly murdered.

I can't imagine how horrible that must have been for the friend. I've also learned of a few deaths of friends after they silenced on Facebook for a while, and it sucks no matter how old you are.

I thought I was the only one who would have days were I felt like a kid playing dressup and struggling to remember I am the adult. It was nice to read Playing Games Where Grownups Live and see that TexasMama had some of the same issues and managed to make it through almost intact...like Sigel and I did. So many times we just give up and walk away but hanging in there can be so rewarding...though if I had my druthers I'd never return to those days. Sort of like HighSchool *shudder*

It's an age old problem as well...someone crosses your mind but you are so busy and by the time you get around to it it's too late.

ok since we have Cedarlooman captive tonight let's talk about his work....holy crap his work was melting my computer as usual! [italics|Snow Day] ALMOST had me wishing it would snow here so I could explore some of his beautiful ideas for myself! I totally loathe snow though so I settled for sharing the story with my guys and watching the speculative looks.

I have online friends, so I get really worried if they don't communicate for a really long time. Hiccups due to the computer crashing or tests I can understand, but if it's longer than expected I get really nervous.

I think also if the person in question was fairly active on Facebook and then dropped off that's usually what sends up the big signals. One of my friends wasn't super active, but he was on a few times a week. However he had people notice right away that he was missing and his Facebook wall blew up with people asking where he was and after a few days telling him that it wasn't funny anymore, and then a few days after that he was found in a lake on campus. The other friend wasn't terribly active, so it didn't click right away but after I got a phone call about it it made sense.
