For heaven's sake my son is two and he asks for a "pee-poo" change (his word for diaper). It's great because sometimes he poos himself and we miss it because he is so darn active. I can't imagine hurting him for it! It's part of the process and a very important part. Try to get a child to realize they are peeing if they don't get uncomfortable...it's a real mess. My favorite memories of the girls is their potty training 'accidents'.

Naw my family is so dysfunctional they are insular and drive off 'outsiders'.

I used to have a huge temper and always was afraid I would have issues keeping it in check. I have never come close to hitting them in anger, but I have yelled some. I have been working on that. My wife gets so angry she has to leave the house sometimes.

After the domestic violence story it was almost a relief to read In a Snowbound World! I have had similar experiences but until I moved to Florida I had never met anyone who hadn't seen a snowstorm. They got a little frost on the roads and FREAKED out!

My sister in law lives in Virginia, but is from Chicago so she's used to snow. But after she moved there she ran into so many people who had never really seen it or knew how to deal with it. Last winter they had a storm that gave them something like 5 or 6" of snow and there was no school for like, a week. I think she's even mentioned the whole town getting shut down for like, 1/2" of snow.

We did discuss topics for January but we need to discuss somethings after we have run through the work. We have some great ideas that have sort of fallen to the wayside.

If I remember the article, it said that the kid had worn the same diaper for a couple of days...

But yeah, I don't know any kids who are PERFECT at controlling their bowels around that age. Kindergarteners occasionally wet themselves too. I definitely remember accidentally wetting myself a couple of times as a kid. Toilet training is just something that takes a lot of practice, just like walking and every other developmental thing.

I know. It is funny. My dad used to tell a ztory when he was stationed down there in the 60s and the forecast called for below freezing. He told his landlord to turn his faucet on a slight drip to keep his pipes from freezing and he was the only one that wasn't calling a plumber.

I've had to laugh so many times... with my dinky two-wheel-drive car (but I grew up, and learn to drive, in a much snowier location than I'm living now) I've actually pulled over to help people push their *trucks* out of ditches and driveways on more than on occasion since moving. It makes me giggle. "Oh hi there, big burly guy with a beard and a hemi. Maybe I can help you with that. Now, rock it a little... on three" says the little blonde girl in a 2wd sardine tin.

I remember seeing a freak flurry when seeing my relatives in South Louisiana. One of my cousins was in high school and the time and freaked because it was her first time seeing snow. That was a nice Christmas.

Oh and this is where I got the title: link

I have the original Donkey Kong Country's snow level music play in my head whenever it snows, though. It's entitled "Northern Hemispheres" if anyone wants to hear it on YouTube.

Haha, that's awesome. I grew up learning how to drive in the snow, so I know how to do it well enough to keep myself out of trouble for the most part. The best tip that nobody ever seems to follow when driving in snow? Slow the fuck down!! lol.

See, the folks down here really do slow down a ridiculous amount---like, I'd be tempted to say too much---except on bridges, where they careen for all they're worth. What the heck, guys.
