Glady cool, but I was just out in the 110 degree weather so I feel your pain. Well rested for once, and dandy to boot.

I can appreciate the pledge, but I didn't like being forced into it.

Makes me wonder why it was not recited all along.

yeah, the pledge is nice but I don't like the mandatory nature of it with the overly religious tones, and how you are treated by people when you don't want to recite it, you aren't a real american etc

At the high school I went to, we said the Pledge of Allegiance once a week until 9/11 happened, then we started saying it every day. Those of us who didn't want to participate were asked to sit quietly while the other students did.
Curious...Do they still do this? I texted my bro to ask, but he didn't answer.

Ouch, it's not quite that hot here thankfully. We ended up with a bunch of cloud cover most of the day and that helped keep things cooled off a little bit. It's supposed to be 10 or 15 degrees cooler tomorrow and rainy, so as long as it's not too humid it should be fantastic! I'm just hoping the rain stops by the evening so we can still make the fireworks.

I don't remember having to recite it in high school. Though I did in junior high.

We said it every day all through school. Like your time, those that did not want to could sit and not recite it. Never seen one person sit though.

I'm not sure honestly, I haven't been back there in ages. My brother and sister only made it a year each through there before giving up and transferring schools. Last I checked with people who graduated in '06 or '07 they did.
