I hope no idiots shoot fireworks off in our area. Even with the little bit of rain we got this afternoon, it is still way to dry. We don't need any more brush fires.

I did after a few weeks. I had just come from a grade school that did it every day and I didn't complain because it was a Catholic school and they could do the religion thing if they wanted, but I didn't think it was right for a public school to do it every day.

It didn't always have 'under God' in it. That happened during the cold war to cement in how different we are from Russia. But unfortunately the phrase stuck. There have been attempts to remove it, but without success.

Someone shot one off near us last night and it scared the shit out of my parrot. he took off and flew smack into the wall.

I guess a few nights ago I missed out on some idiots throwing really large firecrackers out their car window as they sped down the street I live on. I was on my motorcycle and missed them by about 30 seconds. God only knows if they would have kept throwing them while I rode by..
