How would you say your reviews are different today than when you first started with the site?
They are a lot more informative and relaxed. I think you can tell I'm more comfortable now just by reading a recent review of a sex toy and one that I wrote when I first started.
What was your favorite review to write; why?
I think that would be the Jopen Ego e3 because it's the strongest vibrating ring we have ever tried. I had been wanting one for a long time and was excited to get it, especially since it was something for both of us to enjoy! It ended up being better than we expected and something that we both enjoy using often.
What was your least favorite review to write; why?
The Hero heat ray warming lube. Worst sexual experience EVER! I was expecting a nice, lightly warm sensation and what I got was intense painful burning. I tried to tough it out since it wasn't bothering him, but it honestly felt like a blow torch! I tried rinsing off with water, using a cooling lube and even a cool baby wipe but nothing help too much. I just had to wait it out. Totally killed the mood and was just a bad experience. Needless to say, it went straight into the trash!
Is there a reviewing style (or reviewer in particular) you admire; why?
I admire a good number of reviewers here. I like the ones that add their own personality to their reviews with a little wit or humor. I still haven't mastered that. I also like when someone shares a particularly good or bad experience. Some people here are very descriptive with their experiences, I just have trouble finding what to say at times.
Did you have mentor, who was it? Additionally, are you currently a mentor; what do you love about it?
I didn't have a mentor, I got in through votes. I got a mentor months later. I probably would've been better off if I got a mentor to begin with since I just wrote what I wanted and slowly, through comments I learned what people wanted to see in a review and slowly improved.
Is there a particular brand you favor more than others; why?
I love the We-Vibe line, all of them (but Thrill, I haven't tried it). I like the couple's vibe and their clitoral vibrators are my favorites because of the power and quietness. I also love Je Joue because the quality is great, I love the feel of their silicone and just like the elegant look of their toys. Jopen would be my other favorite because they make the strogest vibrating rings out there! I really have a hard time choose between those three!
If you could go back and rewrite a review, which one would it be?
I guess it would be the We-Vibe 2. It was one of my first reviews and I feel like I could do a better job on it now knowing more about what people look for in reviews and having experience with other products.
How long have you been writing reviews for Eden and how did you become interested in reviewing?
Since January of 2012. A friend had told me a few times about this website and recommend that I check it out but I was new to this stuff and really shy and uncomfortable talking about my sexual experiences and sex life so it took me awhile to build up the courage.
Is there a toy you've been itching to review; what is it?
I'd love to get the Matryoshka. The shape is just so unique and I've heard great things! I've been stalking the page forever hoping one day to see it stocked. The Eroscillator 2 and Form 2 are both something that's stocked often that I'm wanting to try badly.
What do you think your greatest Eden-related accomplishment (outside of hitting the milestone itself) is?
Like many others, a better sex life. It opened the door to things I used to never even think I'd consider (like insertable toys, especially glass!). We never purchased any jelly toys and learned how to properly clean/take care of things and what lubricants are best. And I've become more comfortable with sexual topics, even able to offer advice and product suggestions to my friends that are more clueless than I was before I came to this place!
