it depends on exactly where they kick, if its right near your belly button, it doesnt hurt to much because its very fleshy, but when its near bones or major organs you get the stabbing pain

That's rough. I did the first 21 hours of my first child naturally, then drove an hour and a half to the hospital to have them decide to induce me and demand that I have an epi. The second one, I planned for the epi, did it in the hospital from the start to avoid the drive when I was already halfway there, and the whole thing was awesome.

I hope that it goes smoothly for you this time.

I will say, from a combination of experience and observation, that a scheduled C-section (when there are clear reasons--my second son was in breech position and very big) is much easier on everyone than long labor first and then a C-section. But either way the baby makes everything worth it.

Thank you! I am in such a better place mentally for this pregnancy that I'm totally chill right now. Honestly, the induction was infinitely worse than the C-section. I actually recovered fairly quickly from surgery, never took any pain meds (still have a full bottle of Percoset they gave me, ha!).

I just felt like a beached whale with the sun beating down on it, the summer was nice nice to me and I looked like I was ready to pop at 30 weeks!

Alright guys, I have to go. My son just walked in and told me the air conditioning is going to make him puke, (it wont, he just wants my attention) so I need to deal with that.

Love you all! Can't wait for the next meeting!
Ciao!

Oh wow this sounds so so similar to what I went through... BP high.. pitocin wasn't working, i spent 12 hours on it..but did finally dilate enough. But never ever would I do pitocin again. I ended up taking a couple shots of Demerol because the pain Pitocin contractions wore me out, I couldn't rent, I never would have been able to push.

I will be thinking good baby pushing thoughts for you!

We were busy chatters tonight!

Don't forget we'll be back here Aug 9 with Sacchi Green and oh look, another Alison Tyler book! G is For Games... so come back and play with us!

ALso, we're starting a little game of of our own... how many friends can you bring with you to the meeting??

Anybody who brings a friend to the meeting next time will get a free Cleis title of their choice..not just for themselves, but for their guests as well! Yay, Free Books!

Lol... thank you! I'm 44, had my first baby at 42. I feel like I could write a book on conception, pregnancy and delivery at this point.

Is Alison still here?

I'm curious, what was the thinking on "Just Add Water" being part of a Fire collection? I'd love to hear the editor's take, but anyone can weigh in.
