If you haven't read the book yet, what kind of dream lover are you secretly hoping to find in it? Look into your soul...or your libido...

Ok, I will have all of the pics back by monday. Its a yearly thing our county does. Our riders do the auction and ride. Local bands donate their time friday and saturday plus all of the local cook teams join in. Its amazing. We beat last year by almost 15000.

I've always liked the darker side of things. Vampires, things that just seem kind of evil but that you know have a soft side somewhere underneath. Robert Heinlen touched on a lot of sexual issues in his books, as much as he could for the time that he wrote anyway. The guy in Something Wicked This Way Comes that runs the store, I believe his name was Leland was sexier than shit in a strange way fullfilling peoples secret desires. Although that was King.

I suppose a major allure of dream lovers is that they can personify the forbidden, the things you wouldn't ordinarily admit to wanting (except that we writers and readers of dark erotica will admit to a whole lot more than most folks will.)

So true! And it's always fun when someone takes us on a mental journey we never imagined.

Like finding skeletons sexy I think they're sort of romantic, more than anything. They are skeletons in love!

But I absolutely agree. Dream lovers can be all kinds of taboo

True, true. I love the things that people open up to on here. I think that the reason that my husband and I have such a great sex life after all of this time is my personal desire to let him have the control most of the time at home. I run the home without him 5 or 6 days a week and want someone to take complete control when I get the chance to. Plus it probably helps that I have a very open imagination and have always liked things a little darker than most people will admit.

Hi Everyone! I'm thrilled Dream Lover is being discussed by my favorite book club!! I have a newborn who refuses to sleep at my convenience, so I'll be popping in and out as I can!

P.S. I've missed you guys!!

These stories are a varied lot, which I love, but it's also interesting to see a few similarities handled very differently. I've noticed, in reading reviews, that Shanna Germain's "Devil's Food" and Victoria Janssen's "Vanilla" have been listed as favorites several times. Of course! Chocolate and vanilla! Why wouldn't we dream of tasty foods?

I asked Victoria about her story, and she said:

"Vanilla" started with, well, a vanilla bean. I was in my twenties before I ever baked using a real vanilla bean, and the sensuality of working with one - the rich fragrance clinging to my fingers - was so marvelous it seemed like something that had to go into a story. From there, I worked into the telepathy idea, because sensing another person's sensations telepathically would be both more intense and less cliched than, say, sniffing your lover's fingers. I tied it into older woman, younger man because that was something I wasn't seeing much in erotica, back when I first wrote the story. I wouldn't mind using those characters again; I'm just waiting for the right idea to come along.

I'm still fighting this pleurisy thing. It sucks. I can't do anything physical or I get out of breath and my chest hurts really badly. Sigh... No trying out new sex toys for a while. But at least I can still read erotica.

Whenever I got pleurisy I would take anaprox, now known as Aleve. Two of those can fix anything. LOL Get well!!! I know how painful that is.
