That would be awesome. The library here is tiny, but the population is less than 800 too. There are a lot of places here that have book trades though where you just go and get a book and when you have extras bring some back. Like an honor system.

Yes! My dream house has those tall library shelves with the rolling ladder to reach the top.

Wouldn't that be wonderful. I would totally make my house a more magical-welcoming place (somehow!) if there was any chance of attractive helpful elves or such
So would I, maybe we should put out little snacks for them...

They'd have to be strategically-placed snacks, to not attract the raccoons outside or have my brand-new dog eat them up inside, haha. Hmm.. I wonder where the best place to set snacks for elves would be. In a fancy little dish somewheres..

So Sammi, I happen to know you've read the book. What was your favorite, or favorites?

Another theme I found in several stories (one of them mine) is the image of wings. Don't we all secretly wish for wings? (I also have a hankering for antlers, but let's face it, those can be mighty inconvenient at times.)

Three stories feature wings. "For Humans, Love's All about Weight" by Lana Fox features a magically entrapped shapeshifting bird with magnificenet plumage, with wings even in his human form. My gargoyle has wings (more about him later) and Kristina's "Thief of Dreams" is a fallen angel with wings that will amaze you.

Here's what Kristina told me:

As for my story-- as much as I love vampires and werewolves and demons, I have a fascination with fallen angels. Here is this angelic creature, one who is usually portrayed as being pure and perfect, who has made the ultimate mistake. The fact that my fallen angel also has a kinky streak just makes him that much more interesting, I think.

We actually had over 97(?) days of 100+ temperatures this summer. It blew the old record out of the water. And of course, there was the complete lack of rain. We've finally started getting some rain and I am sooooo relieved. I was so worried about fires.

We finally got a couple of inches on Sunday but the ground sucked it up so fast it didn't stay long enough to do good.

A fallen angel with a kinky streak? Okay, I've officially been sold on this book now.

I always wanted wings. When I was a little girl if I couldn't sleep at night I would sometimes pretend to be a tiny faerie curled up in a leaf. It was liberating and cozy all at once.

Maybe in those pretty little covered knick knack bowls? I could see elves being attracted to those.

I love flying dreams, especially when they're lucid. There's not much that's cooler than being able to direct your flight. That's the first thing I do when I realize I'm dreaming - quick, fly!
