I suspect that there are some people who only read the "Best of" books, and think that they're not missing out on anything because the "best" has been presented there. I'm not really sure what I think, but I do know that as an editor, I'm always thrilled to see one of "my" writers there, and even more so if their story is from one of my books.

That IS a shame, because if you really enjoy a genre, you can be missing out on something that is your favorite. I think of albums from musicians I really love...the Greatest Hits often leave out some of my favorite stuff because it didn't happen to be a hit, but was still completely awesome!
I? Am completely greedy and when I find something I love, I go looking for every possible new source of material from the same author I can find.
