You hit the problem on the head. In truth, NOTHING needs a rating. The ratings system was developed to serve as a helpful guide, but it's become a political and economical tool in the film industry. The day I realized that shooting people with a machine gun was considered "PG," but a naked couple making love (I DO NOT MEAN BASIC INSTINCT!) was an "R" headed for "NC-17" I decided to ignore the MPAA.

I did for the 1st kid, but number 2 is squeamish and doesn't even like to see kissing, let alone zombies.. I think she was switched at birth because the rest of us LOVE gore.

I remember watching terminator as a young kid, my parents didn't care much either as LONG as it didn't have to do with sex.

I didn't watch many as a kid but I don't want to limit my kids. They have to learn to make informed decisions so why not start when I am around to help them.
