#Workshop - February 16th @ 6pm: Review program

Contributor: El-Jaro El-Jaro
If you don't feel like showing your face in a video review for personal reasons, that's ok too!

If you go to "account" ---> "review program" ---> reviews

you can see the option to upload a video

I would say the main problem that mentors face is when a student goes up for public vote while they are a student.

There are a bunch of us that like to do it to help out. I also only graduate a student when they feel they are ready, so you can stay as long as you like. I am sure other mentors do the same.

yes behind a computer it is much easier but for some reason I did feel ... shy, overwhelm this place is big and I felt like everyone knew each other. And their was no workshops or clubs when I first joined. I don't think there was but then again I was not stopping by frequently .

Yes, it's not absolutely mandatory. But if you want to get a gift card for doing the review, it must be in there.

I do the same. After two reviews I ask each student how confident they feel reviewing on their own and let them know that they can always come back to ask questions in the future if they need to. I've had students ask to do a few more reviews with me, and some that felt confident right away.

It is huge! that is kind of why I started here. I am intimidated by the community as a whole. Thought I might be able to find some people here and go from there.

Carrie Ann will send you the intro. I use Windows movie maker.

I used the Windows movie maker program to do my video. It's really easy.

Isn't there a limit or something like that the product can't have one already done. Or did I read something wrong or read something for another review?

I might have to play around with that program to get comfortable with it. I have been debating adding video to my reviews for a long time.

Products can have a video review and an adult video, as well as manufacturer videos and sneak peak videos.

Smart girl, you picked the right workshop as you can see there are both mentors and EF peeps here along with reviewers and as you can see everyone is friendly and helpful. Yeah I was intimidated when I first joined as well.

But not no more

You won't get a gift card if the product already has a video review with the intro on it. But you can still upload your own video on the product too. Almost every other product has more than one regular review on it already, why not have a couple videos on a product? Like I said though, only the first video with an intro gets the gift card though.

But you still get EdenPoints for uploading videos too.

This is totally true; the mentor I worked with had a similar writing style and that really helped me. I find it easiest to mentor people who have a similar writing style to me, because they Get It when I offer them critique.

Yup, sure can. Although it is somewhat limited, you can cut out sections and things like that.

It's definitely scary the first time, but it gets a lot easier the more you do.

I know that even after reviewing here almost a year, there are times when I've asked other reviewers questions about stuff on a review because I wasn't sure. I think everybody should have that option and not feel "stupid" because they had to ask someone for help. If anything it's a really smart choice to ask someone, because you're making sure that your review is better for the community.

The hard part of this is finding what your writing style really is.

Yeah, there are even different types of video reviews too I didn't want to scare them away though

Some reviewers do make their own "adult" video reviews. They usually have nudity in them (hence "adult") but no full-on shagging.

Here's the link to walk you through uploading a video
