#Workshop - March 7th @ 8:30pm: D.I.Y. Body Products (Massage Candles and Sugar Scrub)

Contributor: Emma (Girl With Fire) Emma (Girl With Fire)
I have always loved natural and organic body products, unfortunately I found that many of the products I liked, didn't smell as pretty or work quite as well as the ones full of harsh, and sometimes dangerous chemicals. Lucky for me, there was an increase in the demand for natural products, and larger companies started producing them with some pretty awesome fragrance combinations, but again, a lot of them didn't seem to work as well as their chemical rivals. Not only that, but I don't have the money to run off buying products all willy nilly because I think they smell good. Solution? Make my own body products which are not only more effective than many of the readily available natural products, but also cost way less.

So I have decided to share my knowledge with you lovely folks and hope you enjoy both creating and using your products as much as I do!

In this workshop I will teach you how to make all natural massage candles, as well as a highly moisturizing sugar scrub. I will also include information on which products work best as base ingredients and why. Which ingredients are interchangeable and what the benefits of some of the options are, and provide tips on some variations of the product recipes.

What you will need for this workshop.

Soy Wax flakes
Pure Shea, Mango or Cocoa Butter
Coconut oil
Jojoba, or Almond oil
Grapeseed oil
1 bottle of natural fragrance oil/ Essential Oil (min 1/4oz bottle)
2 6" natural prewaxed wicks with base (not parafin dipped)
1 bag of fine ground sugar
2 Containers to hold your candles (2" diameter)
1 jar or container with air tight lid to hold the Sugar scrub.

I order many of my supplies from companies selling soap, cosmetic and candle making supplies, but many of these ingredients can be found in health food and bulk food stores.
