Will have to reread and make note of these things. Thanks for the input.

Yeah - I was going to share that - that's how I find some reviews and have started following folks.

I have to go return a RedBox movie before I am actually charged for it, and take a shower before work. I'll try to make it back. Thanks for all the great tips!

start by being more active in the forums and following others who you think are interesting.

if you comment on others' reviews with interesting, thoughtful notes, they're more likely to read your reviews as well. thats how i got started, i suppose.

Especially if you comment with interesting thoughtful notes. Not just "good review" but "I liked the way you included diagrams" or "I never realized you could boil a vibrator with a motor inside", etc.

(Not that Alice said you could boil one)

I feel like sometimes the only thing I can say that hasn't been said already is thanks for the great review.

you can always repeat what's been said, if it's your honest opinion. no hurt in that.

I think it's also due to the fact that you're reviewing DVDs and books. Those product types tend to have fewer readers in general.

What bugs me is what a SUCKER I am for products if some of y'all give it a good review.

I will bump a product I've wanted for a while if your review is really good.

i was told recently that you CANT. that its warned by manufacturers to destroy the motor. it was another contributor that told me this. just so ya know.

because i DID say on one review that it was possible.

Well, the last 2 I did before that was for slippery kitty lube and the radiant lighted penis. I am just trying to get a feel for what people prefer.

I've read it in probably five or six reviews and I sit there and laugh. I picture them pulling out their hard-boiled toy and wondering why it won't turn on anymore!

I think the best way to write better reviews is to read a LOT of reviews - tons of them. I learn so much when I read the reviews of others - even on products I'm not interested in.

I do have a small handful of reviewers that I will follow because I know I can learn from them - antipova is one of them - stainedclear is another one.

It seems to me to be common sense not to put anything with a motor in boiling water even if a manual says you can. Or maybe thats just me.
