I bought my first toy when you order through catalogs and they came in brown paper wrapping. I love shopping through Eden now. The reviews are the best part of shopping. I can learn the pro/cons of anything before I buy.

When I shop at eden I have a good idea of what I want and I am looking for. I will look at the reviews to help choose between certain brands and styles.

I honestly don't think there will ever me a time when someone doesn't
have a problem with sex toys.

I think women are seen as bad for masturbating because they have always been portrayed as needing to be "pure" and their parts only used to make children.

First toy purchasing experience: Total nightmare! I had ZERO idea what I wanted. The company wasnt bad, but they were certainly.. distant. I looked to the staff for help.. yeah right. Idon't really have a clue as to why it's ok for male's to masturbate but a sin if a woman does it, but I do have a story of when I first came into contact with that stigma. I was at my ex's house with his parents, we were talking having a somewhat good time (his mother was sooooo stuck up). With EF I am able to take my time, make sure I like or want it and move on. The first toy I bought malfunctioned right after I bought it and EF replaced it with no problems. I had bought a bullet at a local overpriced shop and then went looking for better things online. Once I found Eden, that was it for me. I love shopping here, I've learned so much browsing through the forums and the people here are great.

My mom has told me that she thinks I've matured a lot in the last year. I think Eden has a lot to do with that and all the positive and open-minded members. Of course the reward system does encourage me to try things I normally wouldn't since I'm currently on a very limited budget, and the review program has been wonderful thus far.

It's sad that there is still so much of that negativity surrounding not only sex toys but other people lifestyles. A friend of mine is terrified that her adult step-daughter will find out that she swings. My friend knows she'd be shunned forever. She was so grateful when she was able to open up to me because she said she hadn't been able to talk to anyone other than her husband. I felt so bad that she was put in a corner like that when she is happier than she has ever been.

In my opinion, it's a matter of maturity and not being so naive. I think there will always be that stigma but the more open we can be about sex and the use of sex toys in a positive way will help others see the light as well. Maybe someday people won't judge so much but it is tough to change how others view things...

Another couple I know are slowly starting to use sex toys. She wants to and he says he does but it's slow going. He masturbates but doesn't want her to. He also judges men who use flashlights. And he is very hard to reason with. I don't push it but it's hard to listen to him talk like that.

I bought my first toy on my 18th birthday. And I was beyond excited, so it wasn't weird for me. But I have take a lot of my friends on their first sex toy adventure since then, and I feel like Eden is a much safer place for those newbies to make purchases, especially because it provides helpful reviews!!!

I think that making people more accepting of toys and such would be easiest if we all agree to conquer one of our friends at a time. I have found that even the most abrasive individuals are curious of the more pleasureable sexual encounters...and let me tell you something, we all know how easy it is to get hooked after one good toy experience!!

I dated a girl when I was in high school who had a couple nice quality vibes. That started it for me, a few years later I was in a committed relationship where I was the more experienced partner and I brought it up. The first toy I bought was from a cheap online retailer and it was cheap and ended up almost unused.

The second was bought at a brick and mortar store and a middle aged woman. She spent time to explain the sensations, vibrations etc but still it was not great as the material turned out not to be very pleasant.

The third time was the key I now understood the sensations and spent time to understand Thea materials. We had a great toy for a number of years(it died after fairly heavy use for 6+ years) and we slowly added to the collection. The death of that toy left us searching for a replacement worth as we have been unable to find an identical replacement (my wife still mourns the loss) which lead me to Eden. The community and the reviews make it a place worth staying.

On toy fear and female masturbation I think they are really fears of the same inadequacies and weaknesses. As with anything else the only way for people to change is for them to be educated. Unfortunately those that hate/fear tend to hide from the light of knowledge.

I've shopped online a few times for toys and other bedroom (Or household in my case ) items and by far EdenFantasys has been the greatest experience. I was very delighted to know that I can earn something in return for browsing the site and taking full advantage of everything Eden has to offer. I don't remember my first purchase, but I think it's safe to say the experience couldn't have been as good as Eden. Being able to read other people's experiences with a product is a major help to find a great product the first time.

I ordered a toy from Hong Kong. Never really knowing if I'd enjoy it or not! It took forever to get here, and had no packing aside from the bubble mailer it was placed in (was a bullet)

The next time I ordered a toy I bought one with no reviews from a major online retailer. I wish I had made a better choice. That's one reason I love the reviews on EF -- they say so much more than what the manufacturer says!

I bought my first toy(s) at the adult store that I was a cashier at, the store itselk had a stigma attached to it as being sleezy in our town. The store was very nice, classy and fun, but people like to pretend they aren't interested and its BAD, when in reality their curiosity was probably driving them crazy. I believe the media is able to greatly influence in what society views as "acceptable". After seeing all of the girls on Sex and the City using rabbit vibrators, their sales rocketed. I have recently read articles in magazines such as Allure and Cosmo which talk about how much the sex toy market has expanded and just how valuable of a resource they can be for couples struggling sexuality. Remove the stigma and taboo, remove the embarrassment!

I am 54 years old and have never masturbated as my mother told me women don't do that. I am now interested in trying and I am about to buy my first toy. I think women today are much more free in their sexuality than women in my generation and I hope it continues to blossom!

My first "toy" was a pair of kegel exerciser. I don't think there is anything wrong with males/females masturbating. It feels good and it's SUPPOSED to so why not? And as for why some people think it's okay for men and not women? It's the same way why being sexual with many people is okay for a man and not a woman. It's sexist. My first toy ever, was purchased from Eden. It was a rabbit vibrator, some lube, and a case to lock it in. The items arrived discreetly and the lube was in its own separate baggie. I was quite impressed.
