Mystery boxes?

Contributor: dv8 dv8
Some other shopping sites sell cheap mystery packages, usually for $1 + shipping. A certain site sells infamous "bags of crap" that can end up being anything from a broken remote control to a high-def TV. Has anyone considered having a similar promotion on EF?

I haven't, but that sounds kind of awesome. I'm one for surprises though. It doesn't matter what I end up with, it's the suspense build-up that makes it worth it.

I've never gotten a mystery box, but I know people who have. It seems like they're rarely worth it.

I do think it'd be cool EF did something like that, though I'm not sure I'd purchase one.

Electronics and tech mystery boxes always give me at least $5 worth of something useful. Even if the items aren't great, I've never felt like I wasted $5.

I gave up on mystery grab bags when I was a kid...I always seemed to end up with crap.

While I like the idea, I generally don't go for them. I'd rather use that money for something that I definitely DO want!

They're entertaining, but I generally won't go for them if there's a chance I'll get something I couldn't use. So I'd have to pass up EF mystery bags if they did them unless they came with at least a safety rating.

I think this would be a good idea only if it contained universally usable accessories or toy accompaniments... Wipes, bullet vibes, lubes, cleaners, covers... Small samples of bath, body and sensual stuff. That sort of thing.

Example, one grab bag could contain a bottle of toy cleaner, several lube sample packets, some Eden wipes, a small container of bath salts and a feather tickler.

If there were grab bags of toys themselves, I wouldn't be as interested because I only like a few materials and a lot of toys don't interest me. I don't have anyone I can give them away to, so it would be wasteful for me.

I think it would be a fun option as one of the free gifts.

I have bought mystery sex toy grab bags from other sites before, ones where they promise you get toys worth at least twice what you pay,am usually pretty pleased with them Really depends on how fussy you are about toy materials etc

I agree with this. Would be a fun option for this, but you would need to be able to add your clothes size.

This would be fun for me, as long as there wasn't any lingerie or latex items in there. -hates lingerie and it hates her back by never fitting right-

If it were just samples of things or accessories, (and if lingerie items HAD to be included, socks or stockings) that would be great for a mystery box/bag.

It'd be interesting to do with products that were used for demonstration or with damaged packages or returns that can't be resold for whatever reason.

I've had good results with mystery bags from a UK toy retailer, though I would be less likely to buy one now that I've got a rather nice toy collection. It's great for newcomers to toys, since you can try out different things you might not have bought for yourself.

The same site also did lingerie grab bags which were sorted by type and size - a bundle of chemises or a bundle of bras. The toys were done separately, with male toy bags, female toy bags, and kinky bags. Even though I was not able to use everything, I always got my money's worth from the items I could use.

Agreed! I use to love that when I ordered from Adam and Eve I had a choice from a mystery toy or DVD. That would be lovely to have at Eden.

i would love it they can be shady but with a company you can trust like EF it would be awesome. Also it would have to cost more then a dollar to get anything worth it.

It's great for newcomers to sex toys to get a random selection. Helps them build their collection. When you're more experienced and have more toys than you can use, it's still fun, but less likely to get you something you'd use.

That said, I did put in an order for a £5 mystery item from a UK shop. Feels like Christmas waiting for it to arrive. Even if it's just a bullet, I'll be happy, but it might be a luxury item.

Usually those "mystery boxes" are crap the site couldn't sell. I remember getting some horrible, broken or dangerous stuff from a site named after a man and woman in Genesis years ago before I found Eden.

I wouldn't use this option at all.
