I hate using Windows.
03/26/2012
7 but i prefer apple!

Win 7 was the answer to an upgrade for XP users who skipped the fiasco that was Vista, though a lot of employers and large networks (like at schools, etc) still haven't upgraded yet. I upgraded when I got my Alienware Aurora and would do ANYTHING to avoid getting Vista on it.
Don't get me started on Win 8 -.-

I like that 7 finds drivers for you. It's a pain in the butt to have to do it yourself most of the time.
03/27/2012
I'm a mac user!
03/27/2012
I have computers with XP, Vista and W7 - I don't bother to upgrade. What they come with - they go out the door with.
03/27/2012
I only tried XP
03/27/2012
XP. I currently have Vista. The next computer I get will run Linux.
03/27/2012
I honestly like both operating systems. I run on Windows 7 and miss the feature of XP for searching within documents.
03/27/2012
I'm in love with Windows 7
03/27/2012
I use 7.
03/27/2012
Windows 7 is my favorite OS.
03/27/2012
I like 7 better, but this computer has XP on it, and it is ok.
03/27/2012
I find 7 to be more user-friendly. I miss XP sometimes, though. I've had to buy new printers/scanners/etc. as many older devices won't work with 7.
03/27/2012
We have 7.
03/27/2012
XP isn't supported by Windows Updates anymore. Now that Windows 8 is about to hit the shelves, Windows 7 is your best bet.
03/27/2012
I have 7. I have been using windowns pretty much all my life.
03/27/2012
They are going to release W8 already? What is wrong with Window 7?
I hate the constant changes. I wish they could just stick with one for at least a healthy period of time.
I have Windows 7 on my NEW laptop (which surprises me that they are already letting out a new W) and XP on our old desk top. The only thing is most of our pictures are on the desk top, and I can't get onto some site like Adobe book reader and webex on my laptop. I don't know why. I'm not good with computers at all.

I really don't understand the logic of it, but I know that IBM just smashed the atom records for bytes. They reduced the number of atoms in one byte from 1 million to 12. 12 atoms! That's beyond amazing. Soon we're going to be seeing 500 TB drives instead of 500 GB drives.

I think Microsoft churns out new platforms as a way to make sure they are installed on PCs when they go out the door, it might even be some sort of obligation to the manufacturers. Who knows? Most laptops and netbooks and ipads and all that stuff aren't designed to last more than four years anyway.
03/27/2012
I like Windows 7.
03/27/2012
I have XP and like it.
03/27/2012
vista
03/27/2012
Windows 7, Microsoft has a habit of putting experimental stuff on every other OS, that's why I'm skipping 8 until they fix the bugs and make 9.
03/27/2012
7 is better.
03/27/2012
I'm still running XP. Downgraded from vista not too long ago. I'm still weary to try 7 with how slow vista ran.
03/27/2012
I like Windows 7 okay, but the updated Windows Movie Maker that came with it is crap.
03/27/2012
Both have their advantages...
03/27/2012
7 is nice.

Um, Windows XP came out in 2001, which makes it eleven years old. Considering that you can completely skip that over Vista (which was a flop) that's eleven years of one OS, which hardly constitutes "constant changes" to a system. Ten years of support is absolutely ridiculous.

Windows 7 has been out since 2009, which makes it three years old. Microsoft is aiming more for tablet use and breaking the interface of the typical Windows layout in Win8, so a lot of people are predicting that we'll have another "keep the old, skip this new one, then make something useful" cycle like we had with XP > Vista > 7. This time it'll be 7 > 8 (skip) > something useful again. They're shooting for a touch-focused interface in Win8 (take a look at screenshots of Win8 - it looks nothing like a typical desktop) and most computers/laptops don't have the same touch capabilities as a tablet or phone.
Technology isn't stagnant so it'll keep moving. Your OS won't change as often as things like cell phones do (which come out every few months), but it'll shift every few years. I don't see how someone can call that kind of evolutionary timeline as "constant changes" when the changes/updates are 99% hotfixes or downloadable patches rather than full upgrades.

I love Windows 7 over XP, seems a lot more stable.
03/28/2012
I've been using 7 for the past 3 years, and I like it. But there wasn't anything wrong with xp either.
03/28/2012

Windows 7, ever since I got my current computer in August.

7 for sure!

I have 7 and love it

Leave me go back to XP, less compatibility problems and a less annoying interface, and no babysitter-like behaviour concerning installs and running of programs. Leave me in my prehistoric jungle please, stop updating things and making them worse.

I think I'm going to wait with the whole windows 8 thing, I'm not jumping on it like I did with Vista... that was a bad decision!

XP is simpler to use. I've never gotten used to windows 7, but in the future, i'll probably switch up, or be forced to, as I get a new computer, just to stay relevant and with the times.

Windows 7 ! But I would like to experience a Mac one day just to see what all the hype is all about.

Win98 was the only decent OS Microsoft ever released - the least buggy and it did everything correctly that was available at the time.
I'm stuck with XP on this borrowed laptop.
I want my Linux back.

we have 7
05/10/2012
Liked XP better. If you can tweak 7 enough it's almost like XP, though. Take the kiddie gloves off, Microsoft! I know what I'm doing. Linux is cool, too.

I like both for different reasons, I find XP is better for some of my older games in that it runs them more smoothly and less resource heavy, but xp had tons of errors usually, more bugs, blue screens etc.

Windows 7 overall seems more stable and useful, but a lot of my older games, while they will run, seems to not be able to run as well.

For like 4 years I had been using Apple and once my Macbook died and my parents bought a Compaq laptop I had a hard time adjusting to Windows and to Windows 7. I like Windows 7 better than XP.
05/10/2012
I think I may like XP better than 7. For little things like not being able to drag and drop some files in folders in the order you want.
