Why no love for Nea?

Contributor: biancajames biancajames
I bought Nea on a friends reccomendation despite mixed reviews on EF, and I must say I love it. I love the tiny size, the curved shape, the hard smooth texture and the rechargeability. It's not as strong as my magic wand but seems about on par with my other rechargeables. So I'm curious why its so wildly unpopular. I think for me the shape, size and hardness is why it works- the vibrations I get from silicone toys feel too buzzy and diffuse, I need firmer pinpoint stimulation. And I love that its pocket sized!

I hated my Nea. I found it to be way too weak. The shape was nice, but I cupped my hand a slightly different way than the curve worked so it didn't quite work for me. The plastic also vibrated against my clit ring in a really awful way which was painful. I could have worked around that, but my biggest problem was the lack of power.

I have the same reason as stainedclear. The Nea wasn't nearly powerful enough, and I'm not much for cupping vibrators up against my body - I prefer to hold them. I didn't hate Nea, but it just wasn't strong enough to ever be a regular vibrator for me.

Glad you love it though!

I'm in the boat of people who actually enjoyed it. I do like stronger vibrations, but I don't necessarily need them so the Nea is almost always powerful enough for me. The small curved design lets it fall nicely into place while we're having sex and I don't necessarily have to hold it in place the whole time. I love that it's so small, and I've been contemplating getting the Lily just for the texture difference.

I briefly considered it while looking, but I doubted it would be strong enough. Knowing what I do now, I would say that's almost certainly true.

Maybe if I was in the position in the future to want just a "teaser" toy or little extra for partner play.

I don't think it's a bad toy, I just have an educated doubt that it would work for me.

I'm the same way- the amount of power I need can really vary based on my arousal level and mood. I actually like a more gentle vibe, because though it takes me longer to get off with it, I find that the Hitachi can be painfully overstimulating during orgasm, and I can have a longer, more intense O with Nea.

I have Lily, which is basically Nea with a velvet finish rather than the smooth one. I like it, but I can see faults.

1. It's weaker than other vibes I have, including Lelo Mia which is much smaller
2. It has that open charger port. That really bothers me. I worry about getting lube in it.
3. The control buttons are on the underside. What's the point of cupping it against my body if I have to move it to turn it up or down?

I still like Lily a lot, and I think Nea is gorgeous with the flower embellishments, but I can see why other people don't care for it.

Love my Nea for the record and the discussion, but I just wanted to add that after an unfortunate mishap where my Nea got lost inside me (the shiny one is slippery), I wouldn't worry too much about lube in it. Mine cleaned up pretty good and still works great. However, really good point and an easy change LELO could make. Also, yes those buttons... Strange design flaw that I never though of before.
