Throes: Plush, Velvish, or Shag

Contributor: (Re)tired Stripper (Re)tired Stripper
I am waiting on a new Throe (had a snafu and got the wrong item, so I can now see through the package what the Plush is like, but I obviously didn't touch it). I got it in the Shag purple. Having a Black Label Esse is nice but not for stains. They become obvious quickly, and I don't want to wash the cover every time I have sex.

I use lots of silicone lubes, water-based lubes, massage oils, coconut oil. I have sex on my period, and I have g-spot orgasms. Not to mention the oral sex saliva puddle under the butt on the receiving party. I'm hoping the Throe in Shag can take all of that AND not stain.

The Plush looks through the box sort of like the texture of the Liberator shapes? Is that right? I have no clue how the Shag will compare, but I'm really, really hoping it's a whole lot thicker. I'm also now interested in the Velvish Decor series, because of my Heart Wedge's awesome texture.

I ordered Shag because I thought it might absorb the most. I'm a little concerned about the sliding, but most reviews say it happens when you have sex on the bed, I haven't read much about using in conjunction with the Liberator. I don't know if I want to use all those lubes and such on the satin side of the Throe, because it's too pretty to stain, you know?

OH! I heard (maybe the Liberator reviews on their site? I forget) the satin part snagged on someone's Black Label Esse. That really turned me off. But then, I also heard people use it successfully....anyone have any experience with that?

Thanks! I would love to hear more about everyone's experience with the Throes....I love the name, such a cute pun.

Wow, lots to respond to here!

The Plush is the same as the microfiber used on the Liberator Shapes. The Shag has a longer weave making it feel a bit furry to the touch. And of course the velvish of the decor series is very luxurious and comes in the same designer colors as the Heart Wedge. No one material is better than the others at absorbency, because the magic is in the interior liner that is hidden between the satin and fashion fabrics.

I hadn't heard of the person who had their satin snag, but these things do happen sometimes, whether it is user error or a random defect. Most return policies will allow you to return a defective product. I would assume what happened to this person was a very rare case, as I have heard nothing but great experiences from people who love the Throes.

I myself have a couple, and not only are they comfortable to lay on, but they really do work. The hubby and I are always amazed at how dry it keeps the bed, our Zeppelin Lounger, and any other surface we have sex on. I'm sure you'll love it too!

Thanks for the information; I always wondered about the Shag and Microfiber myself.

Personally, I love my "Plush" Throe the most. I have the Velvish one too. The Microfiber of the plush gets amazingly soft and sensual every time you wash it. I really like that. We've never had the satin snag either.

Great reply, Cassandra! Thanks! (And I'm jealous of your Zeppelin Lounger)

Thanks for the response! I really am excited to get my Shag Throe. I adore fuzzy things. They just feel great on naked skin. The colours are a little bright for me, so I might get a nice Velvish one from the Decor series, as those are muted. Our Esse is the only black thing in the living room, so I feel a need to stick some coordinating colours on it.

Sounds like the Plush is a little shorter than the Shag? The shag is 71" which is perfect for the Esse (which I think is 58").

I appreciate the information.

Kayla, I might just have to grab a Microfiber Throe with my points. I am a totally blanket and pillow whore already, so if you add in sex to the equation, I'm hopeless. Liberator is evil Deliciously evil.

Cassandra, thanks for the info about the snagging issue. I try to be kind to my silky lovely fabrics, but it's hard to focus on in the throes of passion (haha, pun).

Well, my decor is lots of earthy tan, beige, cocoa, and cream. I think the Velvish Buckwheat might go over well. I'm not sure about the Tan in the standard Throes; on my computer it has an orangey tone.

Thanks again! I hope to hear more about the Throes. What an amazing product.

I have a few of the throes. The Shags in Purple and Blue, and the Velvish Decor Throe in Buckwheat. The Decor Throe is my favorite. I have a silk comforter that is ivory and gold, and it goes perfectly with that. And the Velvish side feels fantastic. From what you're saying about your room colors, I'd say you you'd be very pleased with the Buckwheat Throe.

Thanks for the input! Ooh, ok, yeah. The Buckwheat sounds gorgeous, and yeah, if the Decor Heart is any indication, the texture will be amazing.

I hope that Eden starts offering the Velvish Decor throes soon... it would feel silly to fill out two shopping carts that would be shipping from the same place. But when it's time for my next order, I'll do whatever it takes, I suppose. I'm really looking forward to trying a Throe out.
