So in poking around our website, I noticed we had these funny gag Beer Goggles and it got me to thinking about how some of the best sex I've ever had has been with people who are less than a "perfect 10".

I'm less than a perfect 10. Hell, a decade ago I weight 350 lbs and wore a size 54 pants. I always knew I had to make up for my looks by putting out like no other... so it made me a better lover. Or that is my opinion anyway.

I've lost a lot of weight over the years and as I became more attractive to the "mainstream" ideal of what we're supposed to look like, my lovers started to get better looking. Time and again I realized that some of the better looking, dare I say "out of my league" hot lovers weren't as good between the sheets as someone who had "more to love".

What do you think? Just wondering if anyone agrees, disagrees, etc.

I don't agree or disagree either way. I find that not everyone is going to be up to my standards in bed because, quite frankly, not everyone knows how to please me and what gets me off. I have had to "train" several of my past partners in what I enjoy, etc. That's why I don't generally enjoy one night stands aside from the fact that I'm not just a piece of ass to fuck.

Personally, it comes down to experience and time with me, not others. That's how I rate sexual performance. I don't rate it on looks at all, or base it on that for that matter.

I've found that when you get a person who is there because they are wanting to be, aren't too proud to accept instruction and genuinely want to please the sex is amazing and keeps getting better. Unfortunately some people have never had the chip knocked off their shoulders. To my mind just because you are attractive physically doesn't mean you are the best lover. You aren't doing me a favor by giving me mediocre sex.
What matters to me is the connection, even if it's just a one night stand sort of thing, connect with me and the sex will be memorable, for all the right reasons.

I love the beer goggles, I had a roommate way back in the day who had a pair similar to the ones Pipedream sells but they were the bottoms of the bottles. I love them for stag parties, seeing a whole bunch of guys being wild and wearing goofy glasses is a riot!

I agree, the connection, the chemistry is important even if you're only "in love" for one night!

Those stag parties sound like fun!

That's a good point! The instructions, and communicating your needs to your partner. I've always been guilty of not being able to communicate what I need in bed and its put a damper on potentially good relationships.

I'm just lucky right now, that my partner and I have good chemistry and let our bodies do the talkin.

I've been with guys who are mainstream hot, and guys who are not. In my (not exactly huge) sample size, one's quality as a lover has absolutely nothing to do with how one looks. Listening, talking, and honesty are what matter. Oh, and respecting yourself and your partner. That is always a must.

My boyfriend is not mainstream hot, but the mainstream usually doesn't know what's good for it.

I've been guilty in the past about not communicating well either. These days, I'm more than happy to direct and guide. After all, if I'm not getting pleasure out of it and only he is, then what's the fun?

Also, if said person is less than attractive, just shove a pillow over his/her face or lay on your stomach

haha - true! or I could always use my trusty new Zipper Hood... this isn't a sales pitch here, but I LOVE Pipedream's new Zipper Hood. I've been trying to find the right model to use it in a photoshoot for my portfolio.
