AH! Leaf vibe -- Vitality is screwed up!

Contributor: K101 K101
I finally got my Leaf vibe today, Vitality is the one, and unfortunately, it has been four hours since I put it on the charge and began messing with it. Unfortunately, it seems I was send a defective Vitality! What are the chances, huh?

Of course I'll submit a ticket, but I wanted to ask here first in case others know something I'm missing or have had similar issues?

I read ALL instructions before even opening Vitality from its plastic, as I always do. I put the charger in and I saw the red light light up. Good! So I held onto the vibrator feeling of it and just checking it out while it charged for a few minutes. Then I put it down and went about my business waiting for it to charge.

Unfortunately, I noticed its red light was no longer shining and this was after 2.5 hours, when I had 30 minutes left before it had fully charged! So I pressed the charger into the hole, nothing. Took it out, plugged it back into the vibe. It works. Then stops, the red light goes off. Then I unplug, replug and it works. And this has been going on for the last hour now. It's now sitting on my dresser plugged in, but not charging.

The problem seems to be the battery. So I'd unplug, and replug and count how many seconds until the red light went off. Once it lit up for 8 seconds, then 9 seconds, then 5 seconds and then NO seconds, and so on and so on. So I switched plug-ins and plugged the adapter into a different socket thingy -- nothing.

So after that I wanted to see if it would even turn on and it won't. However, I think it could be only because the blasted thing won't charge so it won't get enough energy to turn on. So after keeping on plugging it back in after the charge would stop, I tried turning it on. Nothing. Then kept doing this and finally got it to light up green (meaning it's powered on) but no vibrations-- probably because it won't charge enough to get vibrations.

So after spending all evening like this, I'm pretty dang frustrated! I got Vitality as a milestone assignment, and now I'm not sure about it. I suppose I'd just submit a regular support ticket. Anybody else had similar issues?

The manual says nothing about it doing this. There's a troubleshooting section which describes what to check if it's not working -- it only lists things like "make sure it's charged fully if it won't work, try unlocking it, and so on."

Thanks for any advice.

Also, I wonder how many Leaf products have been defective? Maybe it's common. Have any of you had a defective Leaf product?

I have both Bloom and Life. Both charge without issue and hold an okay charge time.

Yeah, something is wrong with your battery, I haven't heard about this until now. I hope this doesn't affect your views on a working version of Vitality! I hope the non defective one is good!

Did you unlock the vibrator prior to charging? I had this happen to me with my Zini's and right before I sent the ticket--it unlocked and worked as it should!! Hopefully it is something simple to fix, so sad that it is your milestone assignment!! Hugs!!

Yes, ma'am I unlocked, but for a second when messing with it, I got excited thinking that was the problem -- that it only needed unlocking, but I tried and it was unlocked already, the battery still won't charge That's awesome that you ended up getting to keep you Zini right before almost doing a ticket. Maybe I'll try re-checking things with this Vitality. I spent so much time yesterday though that I'm kind of thinking it really is a defective one. I know! The milestone assignment, what a dang disappointment! Lol. I don't know why but it feels like it being my milestone assignment made it even more sad. Lol.

Hugs back to you love.

Yes, I purchased a Leaf Life from Eden Fantasys years ago. It was my first rechargeable and it stopped turning on after just a few uses. I did not receive a replacement or refund from EdenFantasys, though I should have.

I just found your question because I am considering placing an order and trying to find a discussion about product longevity. My experience with rechargeable products is mixed. (And when a brand fails, I am unlikely to try it again.) They're good when they work. Most have stopped turning on way too soon with only gentle and occasional use. They're supposed to be more "environmentally friendly", but that's not really true when a product with sealed components dies prematurely. Other brands with rechargeables that historically did not work correctly: Je Joue, Satisfyer, Eden Fantasys, WeVibe.

That said, I have a 5-year-old Eden Fantasys Petite Treat that is still working and still being sold on the website, so maybe the technology has improved.

The community seems pretty quiet since EdenFantasys gutted the old website and the community (neither for the better), but I'm curious if others have had similar issues with Leaf or other brands.

Thanks!
