UPS Expedited Mail Innovations

EDIT: Okay it appears it's going to arrive early (e.g., the day it should have said it would). I wish tracking systems would take the recipient's location into account when trying to figure out how long a package will take to get to you.

I clicked on this option for my order the other day, thinking it would be better than USPS.

I haven't been on EF in a while, but I think I've used UPS once before when ordering stuff off of EF and I didn't like it--it took much longer than it should have to get to me. I forgot about this when I made my order the other day. And I don't remember the exact UPS option I chose that time.

From what I understand, whatever is ordered on EF ships out of Atlanta, GA. I live one state over. One. Literally only *hours* away.

When I clicked on the UPS option for the first time and sent my order through, I saw that my estimated delivery date was much farther away than the delivery dates with USPS I'd had in the past. I thought, "Surely to God it won't take THAT long to get just ONE state over." But I was wrong. The site (both EF and UPS) told me it would be more than a week's wait. "Expedited" is a bit of a misnomer.

My question is WHY?
And HOW?!

ONE. STATE. OVER.
HOURS. AWAY.

I know I'm getting slightly irrational about this, but I'm single and I like my "me" time.

This is a cheap shipping option. It involves UPS delivering the package to a USPS sorting facility near the final destination, where USPS eventually gets around to sorting it and delivering it just like regular parcel post. I'll give you one guess as to which half of the UPS/USPS service takes longer and doesn't implement proper tracking.

yup. EF changed their shipping methods last summer. to reduce costs was their explanation. one mistake I think they made is shipping product in bubble envelopes rather than the protective boxes & packing they were using. I've received 2 bullets that didn't work due to shipping, I'm sure of it.

I'm waiting on a product right now, myself. It stayed in Georgia, the same city, for five days! before leaving the state. five days! now why would that happen???

They are also using DHL ParcelPlus Ground for some deliveries, which is a horrible idea. One of my packages has been sitting in a DHL Facility in Hebron, Ky since July 30th and another has been there for over 24 hours awaiting transport to USPS. I really don't have much hope for the last one either as DHL has a nasty habit of "losing" packages or delivering them extremely late. Honestly Eden should look into switching to another shipping service.
