I'm Baaaack... Kinda.

After the big lay off and falling out, I got turned off by EF. But I've missed the community. I tried to find a similar community, with similar perks. I tried starting my own review blog. I guess EF was and is a one of a kind community. Despite it's downfalls.

Anyway, I want to come back, but have things changed? Have they figured out a way to regulate point farming without jipping those who get their points fairly (that 15% bullshit gone)? Were the rumors of them sending out used toys publicly addressed?

Just run a Google search for "EdenFallacys," and a ton of rumors and bad reputation pop up! I'm not trying to bash on EF, I just want to see if it's safe to come back. If these "rumors" have been addressed and cleared up. While I don't like to get involved in drama, some of these accusations are a little hard to ignore.

Nothing is perfect and def not as many posters and def not the same crowd. Maybe your followers will return also if they see you active here. Or you can make new friends.

Since pts are no longer good for 100% redemption I don't think they care about farming. There is not a forum administrator to monitor who says or does what. It appeared to be member monitored.

Never heard of used toys being sent out. Only heard some of those accuser may have been disgruntled members. We have never received a used toy. I doubt if a business could get away with that. Like suicide.

Anyway hope to catch you on the forum and looking forward to your threads and reviews !

Most companies do unethical stuff, so it wouldn't surprise me. ICKY! And it's really disappointing that mods and points have gone down hill the way that they did.

Welcome back. I think a few of us who were regulars before, now at least check in once in a while.

I don't know what happened before I got here myself, however, I don't think EF would resell used toys. This would really surprise me. I'm not lawyer, but, I would think EF would be very concerned with lawsuits that they might be found negligent and liable in. I have seen the posts that mention this specific issue. I think this might have been a rumor started by an employee that was let go during the restructuring. I'm not saying that this was done or not, but, I think that would be like playing Russian Roulette with the few customers you have left. Eventually it would end really badly for the company if used toys were send to other customers.

While this is entirely possible and if they did, I would hope that they would at least warn the consumer and then tell the consumer exactly what was done to it to restore it to like new condition. In addition to that, I would also hope an additional discount would be offered to compensate for the item being used. Remember, this is only if this happened and I do not speak for anyone other than myself. Finally, I'm in no way connected with the company other than this message board. These are just my $.02 and also if no warning was given, that's a no bueno and ICK!

I sure do hope it was a rumor started. The person I read it from seemed pretty peeved with EF. So.... So torn!!

I don't think it's a wild guess they could not afford to continue to give out some many toys for free. I guess some of the former members felt they worked for it by commenting and doing reviews. If they were in business for themselves, they prob would have understood. No company can survive if spent more than they were taking in. There's many expenses, like rent, labor, marketing, maintaining website, inventory, taxes, insurance, attorney fees, utilities, facilities maintenance and etc.

The many members that headed for the exits when cut off ...... better stop while I'm still ahead.

Of course there were and still are members that left because no much in the way of exciting threads here. Who knows one day we may be gone or not stopping in as much also.

The ones that could not understand about not getting freebies anymore, of course prob blasted EF every which way they could.

I did wonder why they gave out toys so freely. But I figured that they could afford to with all the people that can't write reviews still buying things. There is, of course, the steeper (30%) discount for advanced reviewers, and then you can use your points on those as well.

I'm glad that everyone is chipping in about the rumors. I haven't bought ANY toys since those rumors started. From anywhere. The comments about angry workers and reviewers making them up makes a lot of sense. But I still wish that it had been addressed publicly. That would make me feel a lot better. I mean, if someone was spreading a nasty rumor like that, wouldn't it benefit the company to address it? They have probably lost a LOT of customers due to that!!

I agree about management stepping forward to address these nasty and divisive rumors. I would also have preferred to hear something from management that states the company's position on the issue.

Without moderators, I doubt any of this would get back to them. I wonder if they would be interested in having a moderator per section and pay them in an extra free review toy a month. I mean, it wouldn't be that much more, AND they'd be getting reviews for the work.

It's possible, but, I don't think they would agree to that. There are at least 16 different sections by my count. 16 * 12 (months)= 192 toys, clothing articles or other items they would have to eat. Then you have to factor in shipping and handling. I have no idea what the average price of those items might be either. It might not be a good idea from a business perspective to compensate people that way.

Sorry to be a buzz kill.

I think it only fuels the fire to give forum to rumors. Perhaps the owners are like many of US entrepreneurs from another country and not experienced in dealing with such matters.

It was quite an idea to even partake what they did. In a way I do wish I discovered EF back in 2009. Our stash would even be greater than it is today. The downside is we would probably be burnt out on toys.

Maybe some of the former members are burnt out also. I've found both ourselves playing less than previous yrs lately. There are days now in the week we just go straight to bed instead of several times a day and nightly.

Inquisitor, in a way they did in my case. I had a toy that broke but was worth fixing. It took them three tries before they got it right. One of those times I said that it might be better to send a new toy instead of trying to fix the old one. He said 'we NEVER send out anything used'. He did sound alarmed that someone would think that.
