Hi everyone!
Eden Personal Stores (EPS) launched a little while ago, and I've been helping people get set up with their stores. Do you have a store? Do you want one? What do you think of the program? My team and I are really excited about this program, and we're curious about your thoughts.

Did you know that we are always working to make Eden Personal Stores even better? Well, I have a little teaser for you...

Soon we will be launching a new version of Eden Personal Stores software! We have improved the installation process, making the setup process simpler. We're in the final testing stages, so keep your eye out for an announcement of the new version's launch!

In the meantime, tell me what you think of Eden Personal Stores! If you have any suggestions or feedback about the program, please leave a comment.

I definitely would like to have a store in the future, I just don't feel like I could give it my all right now. However with that new and improved easiness, I might just have to bite the bullet and go for it!

If I had the time and actually did anything with my blog, I would totally want one. I've loved the idea since it first hatched and I'm glad we're doing them. Now to just get my ass in gear where my blog is concerned. A girl can dream, right?

And...we will happily set up a store for you on your site if you wish. And setup is free!

We want our stores to be easily available to all of our affiliates, so we are happy to help with the technical stuff.

I'm happy with my stores so far, the set up does take time though... Especially having to move each and every product into the right category. I wish there was some way to categorize multiple products at once with little check boxes

I would suggest a higher commission than the norm. or some kind of bonus thats only available for people with a store (besides the current coupons).

Another suggestion (Don't shoot me for posting this, ha!) - A domain costs around $9 per year. I can only assume a site like Eden is hosted on a dedicated server with unlimited domains. What if affiliates paid the $9 a year for their own domain and have their store hosted on Edens server?

I don't know if this would be a good idea for people who wanted their blog or whatever else to be on the same domain, but maybe for standalone stores or people who don't have a blog.

(I would also like a way to take out the non affiliate links in the footer. eep!)

I'm still deciding if I want to try it or not. It does seem complicated, and like it might take a fair amount of time, but I haven't actually looked into it yet.

Hey Missy!

Let me tackle these one by one, and thank you for the feedback and suggestions! When we ask for feedback, we mean it! So don't worry, there will be no shooting.

Categorizing products - use the EdenFantasys Bulk Product update module for bulk categorization (look in Modules)

The commission suggestion is good, I just need to figure out what would be reasonable and competitive.

Hosting - We are actually working on the hosting aspect of the program! Expect some updates on this soon. It would be a good bridge to people who want standalone stores.

The footer link - I have a fix for that. That's something that is fixed in the new version. Will email you!

I would love a personal store but I don't have a blog at present as I feel I don't have the time to stay on top of it.
In the meantime, with some assistance, would love to get a store up and running and then go from there.....

Hi Lithaewyn!
We have two different store programs. The one I refer to in this thread is called Eden Personal Stores, and it offers people stores on their own websites. The other, older program, is usually just called Personal Stores, and it offers people a store on Eden, linked to their contributor profile.

I am the contact person about both store programs, but unfortunately the names are still similar.

Feel free to email me if you'd like to get a store on Eden.

I haven't had (or made) the time to thoroughly look into the EPS program. I have my own domain, but it's just a Blogger redirect so I don't have the hosting. I'm really not at all tech-savvy, so I'm hesitant to start something like this when I don't have a clue what I'm doing. I'm also working more hours at my "real' job, so I'm not sure if I need to be taking on anything else at the moment. Can you tell I suck at making decisions?

I want a store for my blog, and I have some time to work on it too. Unfortunately I have been told that eps won't work on a blogspot (blogger) site. Sucky!

No, we don't have a way to migrate stores on Eden to a store on your own site. The stores on Eden are simpler in construction and do not allow the type of customization that is available on Eden Personal Stores (on your own site). But you are welcome to join either program at any time, or both programs if you want.

You're right, we can't put store files onto a Blogger blog because those blogs are hosted on Blogger's/Google's servers and the blogger can't access those files (they can only post content through the Blogger interface). We are working on providing hosting for affiliates, though, so stay tuned.

I'd love to have my own personal store, but I don't really have the time/money for hosting just yet. I'm not sure what else I'd put on my own web site, other than the store and a blog.

Thank you for your feedback. A blog and a store would be a great start for a site! We are happy to work with you to minimize the amount of time you need to spend on a store. I had been excited about setting it up down the road. (lots of projects going on and only able to do a little each day)

Now that I have looked at others stores, eh...not sure about it. I think I'd prefer to set up something on my own on my own website then here on EF.

I would be more excited to see a party option.

We offer the option to host a store on your own website. Eden Personal Stores offers store software, tutorials, and support for affiliates who want to set up a store on their own site. Read more here.

There is also another store program usually referred to as "personal stores" where the stores are hosted on EdenFantasys and available through a contributor's profile. Here is an example.
