Will it still be shipped later "at no additional cost" or does that apply only to US orders?

It's never happened to me, but I think if the item is out of stock before they filled your order, they will contact you asking if you want to just leave that out (be refunded) or have your order held until that item is back in stock - then your complete order is shipped.
But I'm not 100% sure. That's just something I heard in another post.
I have seen an item go out of stock a few times just after I placed an order, but I think I must have snapped up the last ones in stock. So that's maybe what's happened in your situation.
