What do I do about inactive students in my class?

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post, but I'll give it a shot. I am a mentor and I currently have two students in my class. I have gotten to know them both and even have helped one get a review posted from a previous class. However, they have both stopped messaging me, and no reviews have been posted, no comments placed, nothing from either of them. What do I do?

Right now I have nine students and I haven't heard from any of them in at least a month. Some are just slow to do a review, some just used the mentor program to get something for free and never intend to do a review. The ones I can't understand are the ones that do one review and I will send back their second review for a re-edit and they never do it. I mean they are one step away from getting something free once a month.

I send out a message asking them if they intend on continuing the class. Give them a couple of months and if you don't hear back you can probably cancel the class. In reality of my nine students maybe two will finish.

Unfortunately, Soundside46 is right, and last time the has been a tendency to use the Mentor program as a source of free toys. Sadly, some people take products and never get back with any feedback and review. So I guess we will have to make the Mentor Program rules more stringent in order to prevent abuse.

For you I'd recommend discussing the terms of answering and submitting a review with a student at the very beginning of your cooperation and notify if they don't follow your arrangement, you'll cancel the class and their account can be disabled.

In cases with your current students, if they don't reply to your messages for more than a month, you don't have to keep them and may cancel their classes to get the possibility to accept new students.

I have some of these types of students myself, unfortunately.
Of the past 5 that I've had, only 1 has kept their end of the so-called bargain. The rest go MIA either before or after the first few message exchanges...
