I've noticed the last few days that when I search for certain brands (Vixen is the one that comes to mind directly) nothing comes up, but when i browse the items are still there. I was wondering if there was a glitch or if searching by brand is being phased out?

If everything happens to be out of stock for that brand (which right now, that seems to be the case for Vixen) then it won't show up at all. If you notice by default "hide out of stock items" is checked when you search something that returns search results. There's no way to un-check this option permanently as far as I can tell. This is why nothing will come up when all from that brand is out of stock.
