Cake Products

The Cake line is now available on Eden! I've been lusting after these at Sephora for the longest, but I'm pretty dedicated to my Philosophy body wash and moisturizer. Has anyone used both? How do they compare?

Has anyone used Cake products in general? Do you like them? What's your favorite product?

I haven't tried anything from Cake yet, but I haven't heard anything bad about them either. I'm still pretty excited to see new bath and body stuff!

I'm excited about all the new bath and body products that are offered, not so much about the makeup b/c I'm not a real makeup kinda girl, but I do love me some body lotions and bath etc. I'm gonna have to check this line out. I haven't really been on the net all weekend.

Here are all the Sephora reviews if you guys want to read about the body wash. It supposedly smells like oranges or creamsicle more than vanilla. I kinda wanted the vanilla, so now I'm sad.

Okay, so I ordered Snow Woman Glistening Trio and Milk Made Bath and Shower Cream. Yay! I'm so excited Eden carries this stuff now! If it's better than Philosophy, I'll save a ton in shipping costs since I always order just a body wash or two at a time from them.

I've never tried Cake, but I hope I can order some soon and try it for myself! I'm really excited to see all the cool new things on Eden lately.

I just got the It's A Slice Mousse today and it does, in fact, smell a bit like a Creamsicle. However, you do get distinct vanilla-ness in there as well. One thing I will say is the fragrance IS strong, though not unpleasantly so for me. The incredible thing about it is that the scent lasts on your skin all day and night. I put some on this morning and I'm still smelling it on my skin. Amazing!

I've tried a body wash before and it smelled heavenly!

Owl Identified - Do you wear perfume? Did them smell interfere with that? I wear a water-scented perfume (Aqua Di Gioa) and I can never find body wash to match, but I just don't want anything that clashes with it. I think the orange might not smell to good with it and if it lasts a long time, the combo might not smell great.

sktb0007- Do you remember which on you tried?

I'm a philosophy girl. I'm not even looking anymore unless they quit making the stuff I love! But I believe choice is a good thing. Glad to see TPTB are adding more bath products. I have to be careful. Many bath products give me a rash, or I end up w/a yeast infection.

I really want these! I wish Bath&Body Works still made the 3 in ones. Ice Tea etc.

Cake products, to me, blow Philosophy products out of the water. The scent lingers longer, the ingredients are more luxurious and nourishing, the packaging is more my style, and so are the scents. I own or have owned so many of their products--lotions, lipglosses, shower gels, that awesome citrus body butter that gets rid of dimply cellulite-y bits, and especially the milk made hand cream and scrub. And their new perfume, which is growing on me and is exactly like a mature, darker, sexier, longer-lasting Pink Sugar.

The price is pretty crazy, but I always got mine during sales/with codes. Now on EF we can use giftcards, points, buy-outs, etc so it's kind of awesome.

Like Owl Identified, I find It's a Slice scrumptious. It's like vanilla-laced heavy whipping cream with a hint of orange baby aspirin. Once my life settles down I'll do in depth reviews of all the products.

shinypinkstars, I also LOVED the B&BW 3-in-ones--the cherry pie one, you could smell the pastry part! the Twisted Peppermint! The Frosting Forever, or Chocolate Mint.. *tears*.

I am so happy though to see higher-end beauty products making their way onto EF. Part of sexiness and sensuality for me--a huge part actually--is grooming (we came from apes, after all) and feeling soft and smelling nice. It's like pre-foreplay for me.

stainedclear, It's a Slice wouldn't likely clash with your perfume, because your perfume would overpower the lotion a lot. The body wash, it would overpower completely. The hint of soft vanilla and the citrus might go well with the perfume. Let me know how you like the Snow Woman trio! I LOVE it, but I was bummed that the bottles were small and that it's a limited edition thing. It's much more strong, pure vanilla if that's what you're going for.

The Snow Woman is amazing! I'm so sad it's limited edition and I'm also bummed at how small the bottles are. I'm actually out of the lotion already (I used it a lot, apparently). I emailed Cake to let them know how much I liked the scent and that it should be added to the primary line.

I got the Travel Set to try the other scents. The It's A Slice is too orange-y for me and the other one (Island something or another) is to coconut-y for me. I'm using the Milk Made body wash (I love raspberry) and the UnSweet lotion now, which works. If they start to make the Vanilla as a main scent, I'll switch in a heartbeat!

I also got the perfume. It's very similar to Pink Sugar, like you said. Minus the cotton candy and a little more like a Caramel Frappe. Mmmm. I use Pink Sugar a lot and I actually like the Cake perfume more.

The hand cream is also amazing. I wash my hands a lot and need a good hand cream but have a hard time finding one that doesn't leave my hands feeling gross. The Cake cream is the perfect blend of moisture and non-sticky feeling.

I agree, these blow Philosophy out of the water! I've moved all my Philosophy stuff under the sink and replaced it with the Cake products. My skin has never felt so soft. Thanks, Eden, for carrying these lovely products!!

Awesome! I emailed them as well; great minds think alike. The bottles ARE tiny and I really hate conserving my lotions...I like to really slather them on! The scent is so rich and creamy, and the shimmer is so barely-there that I don't feel like Edward Cullen when I use it. Love that stuff. If I recall, Cake's line used to be a whole lot more extensive (including on their website). I hope they add something with the scent to the permanent repertoire.

Aw, dang--I was hoping the Deserted Island wouldn't be super coconut-y. Would you say it's a fake coconut or a realistic scent? 'Cause I hate those suntan lotion scents.

The Milk Made is yummy! Don't they have a body milk in that scent, some sort of lotion? That scent reminds me of Cupcake Dolls or Strawberry Shortcake dolls...memories!!

Glad you like the perfume so much. I am ditching Pink Sugar because honestly, it smells so cloying compared to Cake's perfume. Plus everyone wears Pink Sugar and I like my signature scents to be a little more eclectic .

I like the hand cream but LOVE the hand scrub...I have seriously never felt softer hands in my life after pairing the two. I would love to try the foot cream (didn't see if Eden carries that), cause if it's as good as the hand cream, I'll be hooked.

Yay for Eden and Cake! Great combo! Glad you're enjoying all the Cake stuffs. I want to try the pink shimmer lotion, too--it smells like hazelnut cream I think they said? I hope they get in the citrus body rub and the sugar scrub, too...those are awesome products.

Yay! I hope lots of people email them so they'll add it.

The coconut isn't quite like a real coconut but isn't that fake coconut smell either. Real coconut smells less strong to me than the lotion does. It smells more like real coconut than fake coconut (which is extra gross). I'm just not a fan of coconut in general so it didn't work for me. I can't really smell the vanilla at all.

The Milk Made comes in a body mist. It's like a spray lotion. I've never had good luck with spray lotions. I may get it one day because I love the Milk Made smell so much.

The sparkly one I heard smells like lemon cake. That sounds yummy! I didn't want it until I read about the smell and now it's on my list.

I don't think I'll ditch Pink Sugar just yet. No one I know wears it so it's pretty unique to the people I'm around. I do really like the Cake more. It smells more adult than Pink Sugar.

Hand scrub?? I missed that! Now I gotta try that too. Eden doesn't have the foot cream (at least not yet). I already checked. LOL

Yeah, they have a really small business feel for sure so I imagine they take customer suggestions.

Hmm..I might hold off on the coconuty one then. I need to have it tempered with vanilla, especially in the winter...pure coconut in the winter sounds unappealing.

Ah, ok, thanks for that info! I think in the summertime I might like a spray-on lotion. If you like the Milk Made scrub, DEFINITELY FOR SURE ABSOLUTELY (lol!) try the hand scrub. I'm a real product-whore and love having smooth hands/cuticles/nails. This stuff won't interfere with the finish of your nail polish, and if you change your polish often or wash your hands a lot, it totally nourishes them. I apply the scrub to dry hands, rub for about a minute, leave on for another minute, then rinse lightly, pat dry, and use Milk Made lotion. My hands are so soft it's freaky. People comment on them even, which is unusual for me. I also use it on my poor torn-up feet (I walk or jog a lot).

Mmm I pretty much have liked all my Cake products thus far so I am game to try anything. And the citrus body rub (it's getting rid of my little lower tummy area pooch SOMEHOW WTF!! or I'm getting major placebo effect, haha) smells excellent so I know I like their lemon scents.

Pink Sugar is suuuuper popular where I live, because it's a small college town and everyone wears either Burberry Brit, Victoria's Secret sprays, or Pink Sugar it seems! I am totally falling in love with Cake's perfume though. I'm glad they came out with an actual perfume, not just an EDT.

The Eden's move to bring in more high-end beauty stuff is awesome. And popular. If they keep this up I won't need Sephora, haha!

Eden doesn't have the hand scrub yet. Boo. Does Sephora carry it? Cake's shipping is crazy slow. My hands are always beat up from over washing so that sounds like a must have product for me. So does the citrus scrub. I love scrubs.

I never much cared for Brit or the VS sprays but I do like Pink Sugar. I'm kinda bummed it's the college girls' perfume of choice. LOL

If they start carrying BE and Murad I might lose VIB status!! Ack!

Aw, darn. Yeah Sephora does carry it, so does Cake Beauty's own site (check out RetailMeNot before you buy from there though because I think they have a code for 30% still). The slow shipping might be worth it. That's funny 'cause I ordered from Cake on Black Friday and got my stuff about five days later, hmm!

I am a scrub-whore too, haha. The Body Shop scrubs...now if EF carries TBS, LUSH, Urban Decay, Too Faced....I'll be in the same boat as you, girl!

Yeah, but Pink Sugar is such a yummy scent. I think a lot of post-collegiate women enjoy it but choose not wear it because it's very sweet. I know a few friends use etailer dupes of Pink Sugar in the form of candles/tarts/shower gels because they don't want to smell so sugary sweet for fear of not being taken seriously or some BS like that, lol. I say--if it smells good and makes you happy, wear it! But I'll be the crazy dog/cat lady in her 80s wearing pink zebra print dresses, so I'm not one to talk

I think we need to get a nice bath & beauty junkie thread going if there isn't one already!

If you want to find something that would go well with the perfume you wear, you could check out what all the scents and "notes" are in it and then look for something that compliments it.

Here's a site that might help:

link

With peach and pineapple among the top notes, there's a possibility that a hint of orange would go fine. That said, the rest of the notes in that perfume are much musky/earthy, so the sugary sweetness of the creamsicle combo may not work as well.

I have a Sephora within walking distance of me and they carry all of Cake Beauty’s products. I’m glad I got to check them out in person because I wasn’t a fan of the It’s a Slice, or the Island stuff. They were way too fruity for me! If I really liked the scents then I’d save myself on a lot of shipping costs. I’m happy with the vanilla scented stuff I have from them. I don’t mind the Velveteen stuff, but I think I’ll wait before snapping them up. The perfume was very strong! I woke up the next morning and could still smell it on my arm. It’s a nice mature scent, but again, it’s not something I want right now. Surprisingly the costs were the same up here as what you guys pay off this site.

Sephora.com says Cake is online only. Now I'll have to call my Sephora and see if they stock it. There's a few of the Cake products that I've ordered direct from Cake as Eden doesn't carry them (yet?) and it would be nice not to have to pay shipping.

The It's a Slice is pretty yucky to me. The Desserted Island body wash is pretty ick, but the lotion smells different and pretty good. My husband loves the Desserted Island lotion, so I've started using it since he pretty much jumps me when I put it on.

i loooove cake! i'm gonna be reviewing the travel kit soon and i liked it. they make a peppermint foot lotion that is seriously amazing and feels great when i take it outta the fridge (i like it cold) and rub it on my feet after a hard day's work. ef doesn't carry the mint foot lotion yet but i hope they do in the future because it feels seriously amazing on sore feet!
