How are toy reviews posted on the front page?

I just saw a toy review for the iVibe pocket rocket. The review that is on the front page is pretty bad- under best toys by application. A recommendation not to buy it and four smilies/tear faces in the review.

There were other, better reviews for the same product.

I think it is more by date.

I think PhoenixBlue means the Best by areas of application section. There are some random reviews there, some great, some not so great. What is the logic (selection process) behind it?

Not all reviews get published on the home page, the reviews with products that look slightly realistic are excluded. The feature to add smiles in the review form is scheduled to be removed upon the request of many contributors.
