I don't believe that EdenCafe would find a brick and mortar store to be as effective as their online store because of the way their business plan is.
It's very expensive to have a store - not only the cost of the building, the utilities, the display stands, etc. but you also have the cost of labor etc. which even for an area the size of Saint Louis might not be worth it compared to the number of dedicated customers they have worldwide.
In addition, I doubt they could implement the points program in a store like that - nor the facebook specials, etc.

Does EF even have any physical stores? I was under the impression it was all online...

I agree, I would like to see some of the Eden items up close and in person.

EF is all online and their business model (point system, prices, etc) are based upon that. There is no way they could afford to do business and give us all the freebies with points, etc. if they had to have brick & mortar stores.

The way I look at it from my business training is that they probably take a portion of what they'd put into running an actual physical store and put it into paying for our points, free review items, great discounts, etc etc. etc.

Indeed, it is all online. But, you can take a tour of the Liberator factory in Atlanta if you're ever down that way.

Ijust read that a large toy store in NYC is now delivering anywhere in Brooklyn and promises the product(s) within the hour! It'd be awesome if EF could do that kind of thing

I saw this the other day, did you see the charge for delivery? It's $30, but free on Valentine's Day. I'm not sure that would work in most areas and Atlanta is not a bike messenger/courier friendly city like New York is.

The other day my best friend took me to Cupids because he knows I've never been in a sex shop before and knows I do all my business here online, but thought it would be fun for me to actually see the items up close and personal. It was fun to see things and all, but I really like the way things are right now. If EF had a store then costs would increase and perks would decrease b/c it costs $ to keep a store running. They can attract customers all over the world by doing it online wheras, one location is just one location. If they did it in Missouri then someone from California would want it, then someone in Texas would want it and another in NewYork so it's just not feasible to have one in every state. Even if you had 1 in all states who's to say it's in a great location for me. I might have to drive 2 hours to get there whereas I can shop online anytime day or night and have it delivered to my door. They can distribute to the masses the way they are doing it and I'm fine with that.

I'd have to agree with what HotNSexy had said. While it would be nice to see some stores, it probably would not be worth it for them.

There are many hidden costs in running a brick and mortar store. You would have city/state licensing & permits, signage (can be AMAZINGLY costly), local advertising, electricity, wages-taxes-unemployme nt-social security, business insurance, shelving & displays, rent, added phones, and so many other added expenses that it would completely cut out the points, free review items, descriptive reviews, etc. for us. There are adam & eve stores out there everywhere, but honestly--how many places like Edens are there?? None, why...EF has a unique and very appealing business. Also, with a brick and mortar you need to expect some theft and try to recover from that loss of income as well.
I want Edens to continue as it is..amazingly generous, easy to navigate and with great prices. If i feel the need to look at products, I will go to an adult store, check the stuff out and keep a list for ordering it off here.
